PUBLIC NOTICE: EXTENSION 7 – COLLECTION OF DEEDS OF SALE (LIST 1-2)

The Oranjemund Town Council wishes to notify all 64 beneficiaries of erven in Extension 7 that the Deeds of Sale for their allocated properties are now ready for collection. Beneficiaries are requested to collect their Deed of Sale from the Property Office starting from 12th February 2026 until 27th February 2026.

In terms of the Oranjemund Town Council Property Policy of 2017, as amended, each Deed of Sale must be signed and returned to the Council by the purchaser within twenty-one (21) days of being requested to do so. Accordingly, the 21-day period for returning the signed Deeds of Sale will commence from 28th February 2026, and beneficiaries are required to ensure that their signed documents reach the Council on or before 30th March 2026. Failure to return the signed Deed of Sale within the stipulated period may result in the Council taking appropriate action in line with the Property Policy. Beneficiaries are encouraged to collect and sign their Deeds of Sale promptly to avoid any inconvenience

URGENT PUBLIC NOTICE - WATER INTERRUPTION

The Oranjemund Town Council hereby informs residents that water interruptions will be experienced due to urgent repair work following the detection of a water leakage.

Details are as follows:
Date: Thursday, 12 February 2026
Time: 08h00 (estimated time of completion has not been determined at this stage)
Affected Area: Okawe Village
Reason: Repair and replacement of isolation valves due to leakage.

The Oranjemund Town Council sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this interruption may cause and kindly requests residents to make the necessary arrangements.

ORANJEMUND TOWN COUNCIL - NOTICE BOARD ADVERTISEMENT: TEMPORARY VACANCIES

Oranjemund Town Council is established in terms of the Local Authorities Act, Act No. 23 of 1992 (as amended) which mandates the Council with the provision and maintenance of municipal services and the facilitation of economic development. Council is hereby inviting suitably qualified, dedicated and committed candidates to apply for the following temporary positions in order to fulfil its statutory mandate.

NB: Letter of Application addressed to The Acting Chief Executive Officer, Oranjemund Town Council, P O Box 178, ORANJEMUND OR Hand delivered applications should be submitted to the Human Resources Office. The applications must be accompanied by originally certified copies of educational qualification(s), identity document, driver’s licence, detailed CV and work testimonials.

All foreign qualifications must be evaluated by Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA).
Note that Applicants who fail to do the following will be automatically disqualified:
a) fail to attach originally certified copies of education qualification(s);
b) fail to attach foreign qualifications NQF evaluations (if applicable);
c) fail to attach the necessary documents e.g., ID, CV and driver’s license and
d) fail to attach Work Integrated Learning (WIL)/ Job Attachment Letter from the Higher Learning Institution for internship application.

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified and no documents will be returned. Candidacy is limited to Namibian citizens. Please note that NO faxed, emailed, non-certified copies and late applications will be considered. All applicants must ensure that, posted and couriered applications reach our Office before the closing date.
Oranjemund Town Council will not be held liable for delays caused by courier companies or individuals sent to submit applications on behalf of the applicants. The applications must reach Council on or before the closing date indicated below.

🤝 First Staff Meeting | Council & Staff Engagement

06 February 2026 - The Oranjemund Town Council convened its first staff meeting, aimed at formally introducing Honourable Councillors to staff members and reinforcing organisational alignment. During the session, the Acting Chief Executive introduced the Managers of the respective departments and staff members to the Councillors, strengthening collaboration across the institution.

His Worship Cllr Pankratius Kondjamba, Mayor of Oranjemund, addressed staff, emphasizing that the town is administered by capable officials under Council oversight. While acknowledging the progress already made, he noted opportunities to further improve municipal services and reassured staff that the Council is competent to lead the institution. He highlighted the importance of teamwork, full administrative support, and the commitment of every staff member in delivering quality services to the community.
He also encouraged staff to unlock their potential, embrace collaboration, and take pride in their roles, noting that service delivery and revenue generation are critical to sustaining the town.

Guided by the OTC “FAST’’ values – Fairness, Accountability, Sustainability, Transparency, and Teamwork, the Council reaffirmed its commitment to breaking down silos, strengthening relations with the community and key stakeholders, and ensuring sustainable operations. Discussions also focused on key priorities, including accelerating affordable housing delivery, strengthening Council revenue, youth development, and responsible use of municipal resources.

In his closing remarks, the MC Chairperson, Cllr Engelbeth Jonathan, encouraged staff to make deliberate choices in their careers, invest in personal and professional development, and remain proactive in building a sustainable future. He urged all staff to stay committed and aligned with the Council’s vision for a self-sustaining, inclusive, and prosperous Oranjemund.

ORANJEMUND TOWN COUNCIL HOUSING SCHEME: NOTICE TO BENEFICIARIES: OCCUPATION & KEY COLLECTION FOR COMPLETED HOUSES

The Oranjemund Town Council hereby informs the 56 beneficiaries of the Oranjemund Town Council Housing Scheme that 5 houses are now completed and ready for occupation. Beneficiaries whose units are among the completed houses as per the list below are hereby informed that they should meet at the on site (Extension 10) Friday at 15:30 regarding the occupation and key collection of the houses effective 06 February 2026. Please take note:

Before keys can be handed over, all beneficiaries are required to ensure the following are completed:
Lease Agreement – Must be completed and signed with the Property Section.
Municipal Services Account – Must be opened with the Finance Department.
Deposit Payment – Required deposit must be settled in full.
Municipal Account – Must be cleared with no outstanding arrears.
Only beneficiaries who have met all the above requirements will be eligible for key handover and occupation.

30 January 2026- ​Earlier today, His Worship, Cllr. Pankratius Kondjamba, and the Honorable Councilors of the Oranjemund Town Council received a courtesy visit from the OMDis team. 🤝

The Acting GM of OMDis, Mrs. Aunie Gideon provided a briefing and overview of their current projects to the new Council. The engagement served as an introductory platform to strengthen our partnership and ensure open communication as we work towards the collective transformation of Oranjemund.
