SAFETY TIP

LPG is heavier than air and floats on the floor from one room to the other.

Only a 9kg cylinder is allowed in your house or inside a building.

The larger 19 kg or 48 Kg cylinders or a manifold of multiple cylinders must be outside in a demarcated and well-ventilated area.

Keeping larger cylinders inside your house may compromise your insurance coverage in case of an incident or fire!

Do not put any LPG Cylinder near a drain or drain manifold cover, lower gulleys that allow the LPG to flow “into drains, boundary walls, street manholes, etc.

As the LPG leaking is in v***r form and is heavier than air it goes down to the floor level or the lowest point and sinks into the drain that directs it over a long distance and away from the leaking cylinder.

As an example, the gas from a leaking LPG cylinder in the kitchen may float along the floor and be ignited by a heat source somewhere else in the house or workshop.

An ignition a distance away could cause a fire or an explosion that could also cause a back flash to the leaking cylinder.

As the cylinder leak the v***r can drop into a drain manhole and can flow for a long way and be ignited 100 meters away and cause great damage or casualties.
