ATTENTION PARENTS!!!
A teacher was grading her students’ homework assignments.
Meanwhile, her husband was wandering around the house, glued to his smartphone, immersed in his favorite game.
When she got to the last assignment, the teacher quietly began to cry.
Her husband noticed and asked:
— What’s wrong?
She replied:
— Yesterday, I gave my students a written assignment titled: “MY WISH.”
Her husband said:
— Okay, but why are you crying?
Holding back her tears, the teacher answered:
— I couldn’t help but cry when I read the last one.
Curious, the husband asked:
— What was written that was so emotional?
The wife began to read:
My wish is to become a smartphone.
My parents love their smartphones very much.
They care for their phones so well that sometimes they forget to care for me.
When my dad comes home tired from work, he has time for his phone, but not for me.
When my parents are doing something important and the phone rings, they answer it right away —
but they don’t do the same even when I cry.
They play games on their phones, but not with me.
When they talk to someone on the phone, they don’t listen, even when I have something important to say.
So, my wish is to become a smartphone.
After hearing these words, the husband was deeply shaken and asked:
— Who wrote this essay?
With tears in her eyes, the wife answered:
— OUR SON.
PARENTS, take note:
Electronic devices are useful, but they are designed to make our lives easier — not to replace the love we give to our family and the people we care about.
Children see and feel everything happening around them.
Their experiences shape their minds and leave marks that last a lifetime.
Let’s care for them so they grow up with the right values and not with false needs.
