*Myth*: Orthotics Don’t Work
*Fact*: Orthotics are highly effective when used correctly and tailored to an individual’s needs. Here's why they work:

How Orthotics Help
Support and Stability: Orthotics realign the body, providing essential support for feet, ankles, knees, and hips.
Pain Relief: They reduce strain on muscles and joints, alleviating conditions like plantar fasciitis and arthritis.
Injury Prevention: By correcting biomechanical imbalances, orthotics help prevent injuries, especially in athletes.
Improved Mobility: Proper usage enhances walking comfort and restores natural gait.
Keys to Effectiveness
Customization: Tailored orthotics outperform generic ones, as they fit specific biomechanical needs.
Consistency: Regular wear is crucial to see results.
Professional Guidance: An expert ensures correct fit and follow-ups for maximum benefit. Only get your orthotics at professional practices where you are being consulted with custom measurements and one on one appointments.
Orthotics are not a "quick fix," but with proper use, they provide lasting relief and improved quality of life.

Post-op shoes are crucial following surgery as they provide the necessary support and protection to the affected foot or ankle, promoting proper healing and reducing the risk of complications. These specialized shoes help maintain the correct alignment, minimize pressure on surgical sites, and prevent accidental injuries during the recovery period. Patients who have undergone foot or ankle surgeries, such as bunion removal, fracture repair, or soft tissue procedures, typically require post-op shoes to ensure a safe and effective healing process. Without proper footwear, patients may experience delayed recovery, increased pain, and potential setbacks in their rehabilitation.

It is crucial to have a moonboot fitted correctly to ensure proper healing and prevent further injury. An improperly fitted moonboot can lead to discomfort, inadequate support, and potential complications such as altered gait, which can strain other parts of the body. Moreover, improper fitment can be counterproductive to the surgery or injury recovery process, potentially undoing the benefits of surgical intervention or intensifying the initial injury. Knowing exactly how to use a moonboot, including the correct way to wear it, adjust it, and walk with it, is essential for effective recovery and avoiding additional harm.

The expert advice an orthotist is essential, as we can customise the fit, provide detailed usage instructions, and monitor progress, ensuring that the moonboot is serving its intended purpose efficiently. The specialised knowledge ensures that patients receive optimal care and the best possible outcomes from their treatment.

The boot we provide is called Genesis Walker and is the lightest full shell pneumatic walker on the market. It has been computer engineered to provide strength where required while eliminating extra weight. Similar to popular athletic shoes, the Genesis Walker uses a dynamic air chamber in the heel of the tread which actively absorbs the shock of heel strike and allows for a more comfortable walking experience.

We apologise for sensitive viewers, BUT it is so important for us to create awareness of DIABETES RELATED FOOT DISEASE! Diabetes-related foot disease is a common complication of diabetes. It can cause compromised sensation, circulation, and an increased risk of infection in the feet. Foot ulcers can be caused by trauma or from consistent high pressure from inappropriate footwear or altered foot biomechanics. Diabetic foot ulcers are the leading cause of lower limb amputations. Effective prevention and healing of diabetes-related ulceration requires a team approach with the best results achieved by utilising a range of interventions across different health disciplines. Where do we as Orthotists come in? We specialise in orthotics and prosthetics pressure off-loading orthoses to prevent ulceration and amputation in people with diabetes-related foot disease by providing comprehensive and evidence-based orthotic care and interventions.
Orthotic management for people with diabetes-related foot disease will usually involve a custom-made lower limb orthosis in combination with customised footwear and compression stockings for blood circulation. Some examples of pressure-offloading orthoses include:
• Custom-made foot orthoses
• Custom-made ankle foot orthoses
• Prefabricated or custom-made removable walkers
Pressure off-loading orthoses effectively reduce peak pressure, promote healing, prevent ulceration, and reduce the risk of lower limb amputation.

This design was the Reddot winner in 2020 and received Gold at the German Design Award in 2021!

The Adapt Air is a breast form that can be individually adapted to the chest wall and the natural body silhouette by means of an integrated air chamber. Perfect for women with lymphoedema or weight fluctuations and uneven scarring.

How Does it Work?

A special pumping device is needed to fill the chamber with air or to deflate it. The process is actually quite simple: you clamp the pump under the bra strap on the opposite side and insert the cannula into the marked opening on the breast form. Then insert the breast form into the bra cup. Now you can adjust the Adapt Air to your personal needs by pressing the pump ball. You can release the air at any time. Once the correct volume is set, you remove the cannula from the valve. That's it!
