DMS’ LITTLE ORAL CARE GUIDE
Episode 5: Good oral hygiene routine (brush, floss, rinse)

Checking you have the right technique for brushing your teeth will help to ensure you’re cleaning your whole mouth effectively.

Aside from brushing your teeth in the morning and at night, flossing your teeth once a day is an important part of an effective oral hygiene routine. Flossing with dental floss removes plaque and debris between the teeth where your toothbrush can’t reach, which can help to avoid oral health problems such as tooth decay and gum disease.

Use an antibacterial mouthwash every day. Antibacterial mouthwash helps keep harmful oral bacteria at bay. In addition to washing away food and debris, it also reduces plaque buildup. Be sure to choose an alcohol-free formula to prevent dry mouth.

Our GUM Soft Picks are the perfect portable interdental brushes for oral care on-the-go. Each of our dental picks feature ultra-soft, rubber bristles that gently & effectively remove plaque and food particles for cleaner teeth, healthier gums, and fresher breath.

DMS’ LITTLE ORAL CARE GUIDE
Episode 4: Manual versus electric toothbrush

Electric toothbrushes have been shown to remove more plaque than a manual toothbrush. Plaque bacteria can lead to gum disease and tooth decay if not removed properly. The vibration allows for more micro-movements every time you move your toothbrush across your teeth removing plaque more effectively.

Manual toothbrushes have been around for a long time. While they don’t have the bells and whistles found in many electric toothbrushes, they are still an effective tool for cleaning your teeth and preventing gingivitis. They also provide a more gentle feel in the mouth.

If you should prefer a manual toothbrush for the feel and handling, yet demand the most effective cleaning then our Balene manual toothbrush will be just for you. Balene cleans the internal and external surface of theet at the same time. Specially designed bristles last twice as long and eliminate 99.9% of bacteria that inhabit the brush.

DMS’ LITTLE ORAL CARE GUIDE
Episode 3: Toothbrush Care

Toothbrushes should not be shared. Sharing a toothbrush could result in an exchange of bodily fluids and microorganisms between people. Rinse the toothbrush thoroughly after each use to remove any remaining paste and debris.

Store toothbrushes in an upright position after use and allow them to air dry. Storing a moist toothbrush in a closed container promotes microbial growth more so than leaving it exposed to the open air.

2 Toothbrushes should be replaced approximately every three to four months or more often if the bristles become matted or frayed. The effectiveness of the brush decreases as the bristles become worn.

Oclean brush heads are specially designed for optimal daily cleaning routine, soft high-density bristle planting providing more surface contact and a gentle clean. Classic or diamond bristles guarantee better plaque removal along the gumline. Also available for kids.

DMS’ LITTLE ORAL CARE GUIDE
Episode 2: Correct tooth brushing methods

Oral professionals recommend brushing teeth twice a day for two minutes using a fluoride toothpaste. Brush for two minutes to achieve clinically significant plaque removal. Use a toothpaste containing fluoride for the decreased risk of caries and remineralization of teeth.

Place the toothbrush against the gumline at a 45-degree angle to remove plaque from above and just below the gingival margin, and move the toothbrush gently back and forth in short strokes. To clean the inside surfaces of the front teeth, they should tilt the brush vertically and make several up-and-down strokes. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush and apply gentle pressure to avoid gingival injury.

DMS’ LITTLE ORAL CARE GUIDE
Episode 1: When start brushing

As soon as primary teeth start to erupt, which may be as early as 6 months of age, they are at risk of tooth decay. Brush an infant’s teeth twice a day, using a child-sized toothbrush. The toothbrush should have soft bristles and a head small enough to easily maneuver inside the child’s mouth, reaching all tooth surfaces. Children should be supervised by an adult and should be instructed to spit the excess toothpaste out after brushing, especially when fluoridated toothpaste is used.

Our G.U.M.products include an entire kids range which suits perfectly the requirements of milk and permanent teeth of kids from age 3+. ...and it's real fun to use!
