Namibia Institute of Pathology Limited

Namibia Institute of Pathology Limited NIP is the largest diagnostic pathology service provider in Namibia. NIP is a significant contributor to the socio-economic development agenda in Namibia.

Namibia Institute of Pathology (NIP) Limited was established by an Act of Parliament (Namibia Institute of Pathology Act, 1999 (Act 15 of 1999) and registered as a public limited liability company under the Companies Act, with the State as the sole shareholder). It handles all public health sector pathology testing and provides an extensive array of disease monitoring services. It provides job opportunities to over 450 employees and also contributes substantially to the fiscus through direct and indirect tax payments. The company prides itself in providing medical laboratory services which reach far beyond servicing Namibia’s public healthcare needs, but also involves the establishment of an organisation that can effectively compete with private pathology providers, offering high quality, accessible and value-for-money services beyond Namibia’s borders. NIP has strong strategic alliances within the health-care industry enabling the company to align itself with best global practices. Since the inception of the company, it has grown to over 40 medical laboratories with a staff complement of over 450 employees headed by the Chief Executive Officer. Various stakeholders have provided contributions which are important in executing the plan over the next five years. The five-year strategic plan is two-fold:
1. To address the dynamic environment within which we operate with all stakeholders; and
2. To improve on areas which presented challenges in the past. The strategic plan has been outlined with short and long term strategic objectives and we are confident that this plan will enable us to deliver effectively and efficiently through the next five years, enabling us to attain far greater accomplishments in the healthcare industry.

The 23rd of January 2026 marked a meaningful moment as we handed over a RISO duplication machine, valued at over N$61,000, to Omaandi Combined School. This donation forms part of our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) commitment to empowering communities.

The handover was officiated by our Area Manager for the North West, Ms Ndeshipewa Hamatui-Valombola, and warmly received by the Tsandi Circuit Education Officer, the school principal, dedicated teachers, enthusiastic learners, and community representatives.

We are deeply grateful for the appreciation expressed on behalf of the Tsandi Circuit for this contribution towards strengthening teaching and learning.

This is more than a machine; it’s an investment in the future of our children and our nation. We are proud to support quality education in Namibia.

Happy New Year! Wishing you continued success and progress in the year ahead.
