A lot of the times, we do not always realize this probably due to upbringing, environment, experiences, traits etc we have some emotions as default.
For no reason, some people are just sad. Always sad, deoressed, worried, pessimistic and this can be contagious.
Same way, like a ripple effect, hanging around an optimistic , joyful and happy person, makes you less likely to be depressed and anxious.
Some have a more calm demeanor and so are articulative, relaxed and less worrisome come what may.
However, either negative or positive, it is good to choose your energy, your desired default emotion and work on it.
Being resistant to such positive change can come in words like " leave me, that's how I am".
Well yes, you are right.
That is how your are already out of conditioning and you can out-condition from the negative to the positive only if you will. These are learnt overtime and spill off as habits and form out characters which affects our reputation.
But you have to acknowledge that you need a change of default countenance and emotions. Recognize and identify the extent of harm than good it is to you
Don't get me wrong, you can.feel different ways at times but I think it is within our power to choose emotions to reactions and the kind of energy you want to vibe out by default.
The more toxic your emotions especially when it's affecting your productivity, the more it can affect your mental health, self care and wellbeing.
I am not in to tell you what to do but I would only recommend that by default, choose to be happy come what may.
Happiness is a choice with many blessings including peace of mind, feeling of selfworth, boundless joy etc. Why settle for less when you can have more?
