[35]I chased that wild animal, attacked it, and took the sheep from its mouth. The wild animal jumped on me, but I caught it by the fur under its mouth. And I hit it and killed it.

MESSAGE:
David started out as a shepherd, tending his father's sheep in the wilderness. As a shepherd, he was responsible for the flock. He protected and defended the flock even when it meant risking his own life. He knew he needed to give account of all the sheep in his care.

David stayed with his sheep in the wilderness. He mastered the terrain and knew the predators. As a result of this knowledge, he could wrestle with both the lion and bear that came for his lamb. He also carried this experience forward when he and his men helped Nabal's shepherds (1ST SAMUEL 25:15-16).

His genuine love for his flock must have attracted heaven's attention. He displayed faithfulness in keeping sheep and God eventually rewarded him with the kingdom of Israel.

His training as a shepherd had prepared him for the throne.

PSALM 23 describes God using the imagery of a shepherd. This psalm was most likely written after he had become king but he still remembered his former occupation. He understood God as a Shepherd long before Jesus came and proclaimed that He is the good Shepherd. David could see God in his daily work and so should you. It is important to see God and acknowledge Him in all that you do, just like David. No matter what your lawful occupation is, honour God while at it.

Beloved, every little task you are given is meant to prepare you for a bigger assignment. If you mess up a little task, there's no way heaven will put a bigger responsibility in your hand. Learn how to be responsible from David.

Check your heart and answer the following questions:

How faithful are you in carrying out assigned responsibilities?
Can God trust you with His people?
Do you have the heart of a shepherd?
Or, are you a false shepherd who rips off the sheep?

Remember that every time God gives you a chance to handle resources or lead people, it's a call to be a good shepherd just like Jesus Christ.

*Topic: THE WICKEDNESS OF SATANIC COUNTER ATTACK.*

Unclean spirits do not go out of a person without a fight. It is when they come under fire and the place is no longer comfortable that they get out of the person.

Matthew 12:43 (KJV) says: “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.”

It is from this scripture we see that demons get tired. You can keep wicked spirits under heavy bombardment attacks that they will get tired and get out.

I decree by the decree of heaven that any power that does not want you to have rest shall lose their own rest, in the name of Jesus.

Matthew 12:44 (KJV) says, “Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.”

That is, he is launching a counterattack.

Matthew 12:45 (KJV) says: “Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

Here again, we learn that wickedness amongst spirits has levels. There are levels of wickedness. So when they want to launch a counterattack, the person lost only one demon, but now the demon goes to look for seven more wicked demons so that it will be harder to chase them away.

So the wickedness of this counterattack is that the position of the person will be worse. Meaning that maybe the person could have just let the one demon stay, because there are eight of them now troubling his life.

I decree once again by the decree of heaven that any power troubling your Israel, the God of Elijah, shall trouble them, in the name of Jesus.
All true ministers of the gospel know about counterattacks. Many times the powers behind evil problems go back to the deliverance powers in a rage and shout, “What is your own? Why did you send us out?” They rage, and you need to learn how to wage war against these counterattacks. A kind of scenario of counterattack happens like this:

Demon 001 goes back to Lucifer and says, “I have lost my position.” Lucifer asks, “Who did this?” The demon replies, “Sister Deborah.”

While they are still discussing, demon 007 is back, and when Lucifer asks him the same thing, he replies that it is “Sister Deborah” responsible for sending him out.

While they are still discussing, demon 010 comes back, and when asked the same question, his reply is the same: “It is Sister Deborah”. What they will now do is to plan against Sister Deborah and launch a counterattack.

So the counterattack of darkness is a serious problem. This is the reason that in MFM, sometimes after service, we ask people to pray,
“Every power that wants to attack me as a result of my prayers, die, in the name of Jesus.”

You cannot fire live bullets at the enemy and think he will fire blank bullets at you. Unto every new level of spiritual achievement, there is a new devil. We are faced with an enemy that is stubborn and does not go on sabbatical leave.

The Bible knows that the enemy is strong, so it says to you, “Be strong in the Lord.” The greater the level God is taking you, and the higher the anointing upon your life, the greater the counterattack.

Try and understand this very well. The enemy will always try to stage a second coming, and many lose their breakthroughs during this counterattack.

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY “COUNTERATTACK”?
¶¶ Retaliation.

¶¶ A fight back from the devil.

¶¶ The enemy challenging your victory.

¶¶ The enemy trying to retaliate.

¶¶ The enemy trying to capture his lost territory.

¶¶ A regrouping.

¶¶ A reinforcement.

The bringing back of more wicked spirits to repossess a person.
The enemy looking for open doors to re-enter. Herein lies the reason many lose their blessings.

WHEN DOES HE LAUNCH A COUNTER ATTACK?

✓✓✓ When you have had a major breakthrough.

✓✓✓When you have won a major battle.

✓✓✓When you have disgraced a major satanic strong man.

✓✓✓When your destiny is considered very risky.

✓✓✓When you have just received a miracle that will announce you.

✓✓✓When your enemy is aware that their final stronghold is about to be broken.

✓✓✓When you attack a major demonic stronghold or when you minister deliverance to a strong satanic agent as a deliverance minister.

✓✓✓When you challenge territorial powers.

✓✓✓When he finds you dilly-dallying, not sure.

✓✓✓When you are trying to dislodge ancestral powers troubling you.
Do these counterattacks succeed? Yes, they do. Why do they succeed?

•••If you are living in any known sin.

•••When you have very bad eating habits.

•••You eat anywhere, at any time, and anything.

••• Because of prayerlessness and carelessness.

•••When you do not take the battle to the gate of the enemy.

•••When your knowledge of the Bible is low. Many churchgoers have very low knowledge of scriptures.

•••When you are disobedient to the Holy Spirit.

•••When you do not like praising God.

•••When your deliverance is incomplete.

•••When your foundational bo***ge is still strongly in position.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Samuel 17:31-50

THE MESSAGE:
The most popular story about David in the Bible is probably the one about his encounter with Goliath. The Philistine giant had been boasting against the Israelite army and nobody, including King Saul, could do anything. When Jesse sent David to the battlefield, he thought he was sending him to deliver food to his brothers but he really was launching him into destiny.

David heard the Philistine boast and he decided to take action despite his eldest brother’s rebuke. When David stood before Saul, he told him of how he had killed a lion and a bear that had come against a lamb in his flock. David was bold because he had tested God in the wilderness and he had an assurance. If God did not fail you in the wilderness, He definitely would not fail you on the battlefield.

Soul armed him with his armour but he couldn’t move so he went for the familiar sling and stones. The lesson here is profound. You do not use untested weapons on the battlefield. If you haven’t been grooming your spirit through exercises like prayer, fasting, word study, you will not be able to stand on the day of battle. That is why Paul encourages believers to always put on the whole armour of God and stand (Ephesians 6:11,13).

More interesting is the dialogue between David and Goliath. It is important to confess your victory with your mouth, no matter the size of the enemy facing you. David told Goliath that he had come against him in the name of the Lord, and that he would kill him. That was exactly what happened. God worked through those stones and silenced the wicked enemy.

Beloved, refuse to be bullied into silence; refuse to confess negatively. Rather, proclaim the name of Jesus over every situation and watch your enemies put to shame. If you are ever threatened by a wicked personality, do not cower in fear, reply them and return their threat in the name of Jesus. The Lord will strengthen you to cut off the head of every Goliath that rises against you, in Jesus’ name.

Every true believer must operate in every area of life in alignment with these Biblical principles and values. Integrity is honesty in all its ramifications. It is being truthful in all your dealings and avoiding every form of deceit. It means honouring all agreements and commitments.

A true believer must show a good example wherever he finds himself, whether he is a leader, a teammate or a follower. We must remember that God sees the intent of our hearts and knows all that we do if they are hidden from men by whatever means. Proverbs 5:21 says, “For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings.” You need to run your business in such a way that it will glorify God, not just to make money.

In all that we do, the Bible enjoins us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and every other thing will be added to us. It is an aberration to wear a different garb when it comes to business as a Christian. That would be pure hypocrisy. I have seen many Christian businessmen who say, “This is business, let’s put the Bible aside; business is business.” This is very wrong because Christians live on Biblical principles always and in all things.

Beloved, please do not copy the wolves in sheep’s clothing in the midst. Be a showpiece of God even in your business or workplace. The Lord is looking for those who will stand with Him at all times. Can He count on you?

THE MESSAGE:
Today, we would wrap up our series on great faith with the story of Bartimaeus. This man was blind but his ears were not closed. He heard that Jesus was passing by and raised his voice to call on Him. This man kept shouting, ignoring all those who asked him to keep quiet, until he got Jesus’ attention. The first lesson to learn is that you should never let anyone or anything silence your faith. People may laugh at you because they think your answers haven’t manifested, they may even tell you that your faith is useless. Never let anyone discourage your faith before you see your results. Human beings are fickle; the same people who tried to shut Bartimaeus up were the same people who told him that Jesus was calling for him.

Bartimaeus understood the covenant origin of Jesus and addressed Him as Son of David. How well do you know your God? What covenant do you stand on when you make your requests to God? Do you stand on your own righteousness or the finished works of Christ? Beloved, I advise you to make your requests in the name of Jesus, standing on His
finished works. When Jesus eventually called for him, he cast away his garment. He cast aside anything that could hinder him.

Beloved, when you come to God, you should cast aside everything that can stand in the way of your faith and walk with God. Shut out the voices of the world and your challenges; focus on Jesus alone. Perhaps the most interesting part of this story is that Jesus told Bartimaeus, “Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.” It was his faith that made him whole. Then, he followed Jesus.

Your faith has the ability to move God to act on your behalf, your faith has the ability to heal you and make you whole. When you have received your miracles, you should remember to give God the glory because He did it.
