On the 1st of November, I convened the first edition of the Government–Private Sector (GPS) Dialogue Series– a landmark forum designed to bridge the communication gap between government and enterprise, and to align national economic reforms with the realities of everyday business.

The maiden edition, themed “Finance and SME Growth Roundtable,” held at Radisson Blu, Ikeja, brought together Captains of industry, Federal agency heads, Market leaders, and key Lagos State Officials. It marks the beginning of a structured and continuous dialogue between policymakers and Nigeria’s private sector, starting with the vibrant trading and entrepreneurial community of Southeast origin domiciled in Lagos.

I reaffirmed that the Government-Private Sector (GPS) Dialogue Series is a platform where the voices of entrepreneurs, innovators, and community leaders directly shape the priorities of governance, while highlighting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of a business-friendly Nigeria, built on partnership and reform.

DRIVING INCLUSIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH

On the 31st of October I led Southeast business leaders and their Chairman Prince Ogbuefi on a courtesy visit to Governor Baba Sanwo-Olu at the State House in Lagos.

I commended the Governor of Lagos state for his visionary leadership and announced the fourth coming Government and Private Sector (GPS) dialogue series.

Your Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu there is no better place to start that bridge than right here in Lagos, the commercial heartbeat of Nigeria and indeed West Africa

The Government and Private Sector (GPS) dialogue series is a platform designed to foster constructive engagement, promote investment, and drive inclusive economic growth across Nigeria.

Through this Dialogue we aim to strengthen understanding between policymakers and business leaders, identify barriers to investment, and also co-create strategies that will enable Nigeria’s economy to thrive in a rapidly changing environment, which is in line with the RENEWED HOPE AGENDA of President Bola Tinubu led administration

I further reassured the Governor that the platform is built on trust, dialogue, and shared responsibility, where policy meets practice and where ideas are translated into concrete actions that drive inclusive growth.

The Federal and Lagos State Governments has reaffirmed their commitment to driving investment, innovation, and prosperity for all Nigerians.

Giant Steps Towards Development

Earlier this week, I met with representatives from King Salman Foundation Dr. Ali Alghamdi, leader of the delegation and Mr Imtiaz Alam to discuss collaborative actions to boost development in key areas in Nigeria.

Our discussions focused on exploring areas of collaboration that would yield tangible benefits for Nigeria’s socio-economic development, such as:
-Malaria eradication
-Malnutrition
-Conflict resolution between herders and Farmers
-Borderline sanitation

The King Salman Foundation, with partnerships in over 100 countries, has assured the Ministry of its commitment to working closely to realise the policy objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration.

This historic partnership marks a significant milestone in Nigeria's development journey to improve millions of Nigerians' lives through fruitful collaboration.

Over the weekend Nigeria hosted African and Barcelona football legends at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja. I was present to cheer on the football legends,It was exciting and impactful.

This event not only celebrates the unifying spirit of football but Charity to support WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) and Girl Child Education across Africa. These are causes that resonates with our national development priorities and our shared vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s RENEWED HOPE agenda.

I applaud and appreciate the Attom Foundation and the participating Legends. May this game remind us that teamwork on and off the field remains the true winning formula for progress.

It was with deep sorrow that I received the news of the passing of Deaconess Eno Usoro, beloved mother of Madam Emem Usoro, Deputy Governor of Operations, Central Bank of Nigeria.

Being present at her funeral, I witnessed firsthand the outpouring of love, respect, and gratitude for a woman whose life was defined by grace, faith, and service to humanity. Her legacy of compassion and devotion continues to live on through her children, family, and all those she inspired.

A productive day of partnership and purpose!

I met with representatives from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research () and the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Capacity Development (.cd ) to discuss the Prosperous Future Initiative (PFI) — a vision centered on empowering Nigeria’s youth and transforming our agricultural landscape.

Through this initiative, we aim to:
- Strengthen public–private partnerships in agriculture
- Expand access to entrepreneurial finance
- Empower women & vulnerable groups
- Build human & facility capacity for lasting impact

Agriculture remains a powerful tool to create jobs, reduce poverty, and ensure food security. Together, we are working to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda - fostering inclusive growth and opportunity for every Nigerian.

It was such a pleasure to join Semafor’s Next 3 Billion Tour today in Abuja, Nigeria, for a powerful discussion on Nigeria’s Fintech Future.

Together with Yinka Adegoke, we explored how our nation’s fintech revolution — powered by innovation, youth energy, and forward-looking policy — is driving financial inclusion like never before.

From digital ID systems (NIN and BVN) to mobile platforms like Moniepoint, Opay, and PalmPay, we are breaking barriers and expanding opportunities.

Of course, challenges remain: connectivity, affordability, and literacy — but our commitment is strong.

Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Agenda, we’re pushing for connectivity, affordability, inclusion, and security — empowering a greater Nigeria.

When Nigerians can save and grow their wealth securely within the financial system, we build not just inclusion, but resilience and prosperity.

Thank you Semafor, Guillaume Doane, and everyone shaping this important conversation for Africa’s digital and financial future.

POST-MEETINGS RECAP FROM H.M. DR. DORIS UZOKA-ANITE

The 2025 World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings in Washington D.C. have come to a close, and I leave with deep optimism about Nigeria’s trajectory and the renewed confidence of our global partners.

Led by the Central Bank Governor, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, our delegation presented a unified front — fiscal and monetary authorities working hand in hand to deliver macroeconomic stability, discipline, and inclusive growth. The message resonated: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms for Nigeria are working.

Over the week, we engaged multilaterally and bilaterally — from meetings with the Islamic Development Bank and the World Bank’s Managing Director of Operations, to the G24 and Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action. Across all forums, there was a consistent acknowledgement that Nigeria’s reform agenda is yielding results. Inflation is moderating, the exchange rate is stabilising, investor confidence is returning, and foreign reserves are strengthening.

I was particularly encouraged by the IMF Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva’s words: “Thank you, Nigeria, for showing the world that reform does work.”

This sentiment captures what we have all worked towards — proof that tough but necessary reforms are positioning Nigeria for sustainable growth. Our engagements also opened new doors for partnership in infrastructure, renewable energy, agriculture, and climate finance — areas that align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and our national priorities of job creation, poverty reduction, and economic diversification.

We return home from Washington not only with stronger partnerships, but with greater resolve. The world is watching Nigeria’s reform story unfold — and it is one of resilience, innovation, and hope.

The task ahead remains clear: to deepen reform, unlock private investment, and ensure that growth translates into prosperity for every Nigerian.

We are on the right path, and the best is yet to come.
