I was delighted to address the 2025 Insurance Directors’ Conference on "Navigating the New Insurance Landscape."

The message is clear: Insurance is the silent engine of a resilient economy.

The framework is our national mission to rebuild trust and relevance. I charged our industry leaders with three core imperatives for transformation:

1. Go Digital: Technology is no longer a luxury; it is the lifeblood of efficiency and competitiveness.

2. Prioritize Integrity: Solvency, sustainability, and ethical practice must guide every governance decision.

3. Champion Inclusion: We must expand protection to every segment, from corporate clients to the underserved artisan and farmer.
I am confident that with collaborative leadership, we will shape this new landscape for the benefit of all Nigerians. Let’s get to work! 🇳🇬

Celebrating Nigeria’s Future: Our Students

I joined the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement to commemorate the 2025 International Students’ Day, and it was truly inspiring.

I began by extending heartfelt prayers for the staff member who was injured and for the safe return of the 25 abducted schoolgirls. No student should ever have to face such trauma, and as a nation, we must continue working tirelessly to secure our schools.

As Mother of the Day, I celebrated the brilliance, resilience and creativity of our young people. With 70% of Nigeria’s population below the age of 35, our youth are not just the future — they are our present strength.

Education remains the most powerful currency in the world. This is why we continue to invest in safer schools, stronger scholarship opportunities, broader skills training and improved financial literacy for young Nigerians.

To our teachers, mentors and administrators — thank you for shaping the minds that will shape our nation.

On this occasion , and always, we celebrate academic excellence and the limitless potential of the Nigerian student.

Today, I had the honour of delivering a lecture at the Nigerian National Defence College, Abuja, on “Fiscal Policies and Industrialisation in Nigeria: An Appraisal.”

I also had the privilege of receiving the Strategic Leadership Series 9 License, themed “Strengthening Institutions for Security and Development in Nigeria.” I deeply appreciate this recognition.

During the lecture, I discussed how fiscal reforms, strategic investments, and strong security institutions create the foundation for industrial growth and national prosperity.

In my conclusion, I emphasised that industrialisation is a national mission—one that requires collaboration, stability, and shared commitment.

Nigeria Hosts Ghana’s Independent Tax Appeal Board on Study Tour of the Tax Appeal Tribunal

Today, the Federal Ministry of Finance welcomed a high-level delegation from Ghana’s Independent Tax Appeal Board (ITAB) for a three-day study tour of Nigeria’s Tax Appeal Tribunal (TAT). The visit strengthens regional cooperation and supports ongoing efforts to enhance tax dispute resolution across West Africa.

The delegation, led by ITAB Executive Secretary Mr. Mohammed Kofi Twumasi Nayyar, expressed appreciation for Nigeria’s leadership and the opportunity to learn from the TAT as Ghana prepares to fully operationalize its own board in December.

Speaking during the meeting I highlighted the importance of collaboration. I also emphasized that strong regional fiscal institutions boost investor confidence, reduce the cost of capital, and support long-term economic growth.I reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to promoting transparency and digitalization in tax administration.

This engagement marks another milestone in Nigeria–Ghana cooperation and reinforces the shared vision of building efficient, transparent, and investor-friendly tax systems across the sub-region.

As the Honourable Minister of State for Finance, I worked closely with regulators, enforcement agencies, and the Ministry of Finance team to drive the reforms that strengthened our systems, improved transparency, and restored global confidence in Nigeria’s financial architecture.

Joining Governor Babatunde Sanwo-olu to witness the union of his son, Babatunde Olumide Sanwo-Olu and the lovely Ajibola Oluwatoyosi, daughter of Prince Bamidele Obadina and Hon. Justice Morenike Obadina of the Federal High Court, was truly a privilege. The love and joy in that room were palpable!
