I saw a pregnant woman today shopping in a kiddies’ store, and from what she was picking, you could easily guess the baby’s gender🤷.

I remember when I was pregnant with my first child. I went shopping, and most of the items I liked was just in pink or blue colour😩.
I was expecting a girl but kept picking blue items because, I just don’t like pink colour😂.

That day, one woman saw my shopping and started calling me “Mummy Bobo”🤣🤣 just because of most blue items in my basket.

But eh...can’t baby things come in other fine, neutral colours🤷. Must it always be pink for girls and blue for boys?

I still don’t know who started this pink and blue tradition sef🙄.

They said we should eat more eggs. I’m just taking the advice very seriously🤷.I only pity anyone staying around me today...

We gathered to cook for a small Easter friends hangout, and something funny happened.

I did what I always do. I added water to rice to parboil it. Just as I wanted to put it on the fire, all the women shouted,...Ah.. we don’t do that again o😳.
They said these days, they just rinse the rice and pour it straight into the sauce. No parboiling at all.

Chai… I just stood there, I felt left behind😂. I didn’t even argue, I quietly went and sat down😆.

Every day we learn new things, forget old ones, and learn again 🤷‍♀️.

If you're still parboiling like me, they said rinse and wash is the real deal😄.

I’m taking back from Easter today…

Easter Sunday took something from my family years ago. We were celebrating, laughing, completely unaware that one of us was quietly fighting for life.

Your memory still lingers. You were strong, you fought so hard… but God called you home. We thought everything was fine when you returned to Lagos, never knowing that would be the last time.

Since then, every Easter has felt a little colder. The joy never quite lands the same because a part of my heart is always with you.

But this year, I’m choosing differently. I’m choosing to take from Easter, not let it take from me.

I’ll step out, breathe, laugh, and allow myself to feel life again.
I’m healing..… and I know you’d be happy about that.

I told my kids we would eat eba and soup this morning. They didn’t like the idea at all😅. They said they can't eat it🙄.

I didn’t talk too much. I just proceeded and made it, served my food and started eating, making sure to add those “hmmm… this is so good” sounds to pepper them😋.

After a while, they went to wash their hands and joined me.
Before I knew it, they finished everything and even said they can be eating eba and soup in the morning everyday now😂

See ehn, just eat swallow in the morning😁

I called her to report my kids because they keep breaking plates when washing them. I even put the phone on speaker so they could hear her support me.

But my mum surprised me😭...She said, “Leave my grandchildren... Even you, at 15, you were still breaking my plates.”

😭😭 Mummy no nah.. I quickly told her in a low voice.. “Mummy, you’re on speaker o…” But it was too late.

These kids just started laughing...😔😔😔

This one surprised me.

I went to my customer’s shop and saw another woman buying sesame seeds with other soup ingredients. I got curious and asked her what she wanted to use it for.

She said she uses sesame instead of the normal Egusi.
I was like, really? But I like trying new things, so I bought some to try it myself.

Chai…😋 it was so sweet and delicious. The taste is different from regular Egusi, but very nice.

I just had to share this update abi Una done sabi am before me🤷?

I remember those days when my Mum was fully in charge of her kitchen. You don’t just eat meat anytime you like😅.
Even to pick one piece, you’ll first look around😂.

Now I’m a mother, fully in charge of my own kitchen…I can eat anytime I want🤷.
