As we draw closer to ending of camp let’s talk about CDS

*CDS (Community Development Service)*

This is the way you can pay back to your community during service. Ensure you select the one that interest you when you start your service fully after camp.

*OBJECTIVES OF CDS ARE:*

1. Impacting positively on the improvement of rural community life.

2. Developing the spirit of entrepreneurship in the corps members.

3. To utilize the challenges which rural development poses and inculcate in the Nigerian Youth the ideals and capacities for leadership, endurance, selflessness, community service, national service, patriotism and creativity.

4. Exposing corps members to diverse traditions and customs of the host communities.

5. Providing the forum for corps members to experiment with ideas and translate them into concrete achievements thereby relying less on foreign technology and encouraging the use of local raw materials in the ex*****on of projects.

6. Harnessing the enormous talents and skills of corps members into an effective machinery of change in our rural communities.

7. Providing on-the-job training and experience for corps members.

8. Providing complementary service in our National development activities, by ensuring that our under-privileged population learn basic techniques for self-help through the appropriate technology concept being promoted by NYSC.

9. To instil in corps members the tradition of dignity of labour and productivity.

10. To complement the activities of government at all levels in the stride towards national development.

*Good evening all Happy new month*

Batch C steam 1 hope you are having fun and enjoying camp now? After this week everything is over.

Note: People meet connection in camp and many meets their missing ribs in camp as well.

If you are crushing on someone open up else u might regret it till the end.

This night let me talk about PPA as we round up with camp activities.

Remember that Saturday is carnival, dress anyway u think u will be comfortable with. It’s ur day so enjoy it.

*BENEFITS OF SERVING IN THE URBAN AREAS*

Let's discuss about the benefits of serving in urban areas like Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt, and capitals of states etc.

It is the dream of many corps members to be posted to urban areas but this is not always possible for everyone. The reason is not far-fetched though as everyone wants to enjoy the perks and benefits attached to serving in the city. Let us take a brief look at some of these benefits:

*Better Job Opportunities*

There is an abundance of factories and industries in urban areas. This translates to more job opportunities which rub off on corps members as well.

In places like Lagos and Abuja, corps members can access job listings and good PPA opportunities than they would in rural areas.

*Social Amenities*

Nothing beats comfort in life which is what the urban centers offer. The availability of modern houses with running water, good roads, electricity, etc., is what makes living in the city appealing to many. Getting posted to urban areas means corps members enjoy these benefits too.

*Networking Opportunity*
There are influential people in urban areas who can help in the advancement of one’s career. Corps members serving in ministries and parastatals may be lucky to make the acquaintance of the top shots in the society which might prove useful in job search areas after the service year.

*Access to Information*

Corps members serving in rural areas have little or no access to information. We are in a digital world where access to information is vital to personal development. Serving in urban areas gives corps members access to stable internet connection which can be translated to good use. There are also money-making opportunities like freelancing that can only be accessed with a good internet connection.

Some people climb tree to make call in some rural communities, when dem no be monkey 🐒 🤣

*Skill Acquisition*
Some skills can be learned during the service year that is not available in rural areas. Examples include catering, web development, computer programming, and a whole lot of others. PCMs seeking to learn some skills are better off in areas where they can find certified tutors, or at least, the means to do so.

Realistically speaking, there is nothing like 'the best place to serve' because every place has its advantage and disadvantage.

You just have to make the best out of wherever you find yourself.

How is the registration going. I belive by now most people has registered only few remaining.

Remeber to register even if you are not ready for camp, and revalidate when u re ready.

Next year registration requirement will be harder than now so make sure u register now even if u are going for Law school etc

*PAYMENT ISSUE ON THE PORTAL*

I know that most of you are having challenges making payment for your NYSC.

Note is a general issue and will be resolved possibly by tomorow. NYSC needs the money more than you do.

NOTE: Many will be moved to stream 2 so have that in mind already.

*MEDICAL FITNESS and MEDICAL REPORT*

Medical fitness is a compulsory document needed in camp for registration while medical report is by choice either (not to partake in camp strenuous activities, to leave camp after registration or to relocate on health grounds).

*NOTICE*

It has come to my attention that many are having issue and so many has already used 3 emails to register but still facing same issue.

When something is general it’s an expected of you to relax because even if you use 100 email no difference.

If it’s a challenge experienced by few people that’s when you should be worried and start looking for alternative. But in this case is general. But very soon the email notification will start dropping.

So relax nysc knows what they are doing.

Remember not everyone that registered will be posted. Some will not even get call up number while some will be moved to stream 2.

We have thousands of people that registered during batch B without call up number so they are likely the first set to get call up number when the system starts working very well.

Be patient and observant this is not the first time we are experiencing this and it won’t be the last.

At last you all will still serve either now or in future.

*GOOD EVENING LET ME EXPLAIN THE ROLE OF SENATE LIST TO ALL OF US AND HOW IT WORKS*

This is for NIGERIAN TRAINED GRADUATE

For you to register as a Nigerian trained graduate, your name must be on senate list.

The one shared in your school groups and pasted on notice board is just the list released by your school showing that you have been mobilized for service and is called internal mobilization list.

For your name to appear on the senate list the hard copy of the internal mobilization list will be sent to Abuja (NYSC Headquarters)

NYSC will scrutinize the list to be sure that right candidates are the ones mobilized before uploading it for you to be able to see it online.

During online registration after creating a profile the cafe attendant will get to a point where your details on senate list will be fetched this is where your name, date of birth, Course, class of your certificate ETC will be fetched from. ( This is the reason why a Nigerian trained graduate does not submit any document during online registration because the senate list contains all needed information to register).

If you are not on the senate list there is no way u can register bcos no data will be found.

The fact your school has released their own list does not mean that you are already on senate list. ( it only shows u are mobilized and it requires approval from NYSC for it to go live )

NB: The internal mobilization list is there to help u check for errors and make correction before your school submits the hard copy to NYSC.

I believe you have understood how the senate list works?

If your name is not on senate pls don’t feel bad you are not alone.

REMOBILIZATION PORTAL OPENS TOMORROW 25th of October and closes 3rd of November

Remember remobilization is for CORPERS that absconded and it’s always open at the begining of a new batch.

If you know you were decamped or you stopped halfway during your service year and now u want to continue then you have to remobilized.

It can be done with your phone 📱 or PC.

After remobilization portal closes portal will open for online registration.

So Batch C PCM start getting ready and ensure your name is on the senate list.

NOTE: if you don’t want NERD to affect you pls ensure to register and go with batch C else it’s inevitable.

All graduating students and prospective Corps Members are to take note of the mandatory Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) Clearance required for NYSC Mobilization, as stipulated by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

*WHAT IS NERD CLEARANCE?*

NERD Clearance is a national digital verification process of academic outputs including certificates, transcripts, project reports, theses, and dissertations. Once verified and uploaded, these records
become permanently logged in the National Database and can be instantly authenticated with unique National Credential Numbers (NCN).

*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*

Students: Upload your academic projects (thesis, dissertation, project reports, etc.) to the NERD portal.

Institution: Upload your academic credentials such as transcripts and certificates.

GOOD MORNING ALL

NOTE: This is the week for PPA posting and Redeployment so submit all your PPA now for all states.

Once they leave camp only few states will be available.

First step for PPA posting is to get the PPA name, then make sure it’s registered with NYSC or CORPERS are previously/currently posted there.

Next is to ensure you will not be rejected when posted there ( to avoid wasting money for nothing)

Then submit and wait for result on your posting letter on the final day in camp.

Note: Your first allowance will be paid in camp those that left camp will also be paid. Remeber next payment with be July ending so don’t waste your money.

I know most of you have started owing gbese in camp already, pls don’t finish your allowance in camp.

This week is the sweetest in camp and so many camp activities will be in top gear. Parade won’t be compulsory any more.

Endeavor to represent your platoon in any way you can. It’s once in a life time thing. From service to reality and camp is d only fun you have in service, outside is reality.

Ensure that your waist pouch 👝 is always on you. When you are not pressing your phone pls return it inside your waist bag to avoid crying had I know. So many people loose their belongings within this last days ( I was a victim don’t be like me)

Next week Saturday is Carnival ensure to rep our beautiful cultures and entertain ur with the beautiful pictures.

Soon Lagos copers won’t have need to camp in other states due to the new camp construction to accommodate about 10,000 CORPERS.

This will reduce stress faced by those posted to Lagos but have to camp in another nearby state.
