2025 is behind us now, and we’re stepping into 2026 with one thing on our minds: you. Every patient who walked through our doors last year, every family who trusted us with someone they love, every person who chose us when they needed help most, thank you.

This year, we’re not slowing down. We’re taking it up a notch! We are finishing ZMKC 2.0. We’re getting faster, better, and more ready to serve you the way you deserve. Because at the end of the day, this is all for you.

Happy New Year from everyone at ZMKC. Here’s to your health, your healing, and whatever this year brings your way.

Merry Christmas 🎄🎁

Another year, another Christmas. We’ve worked hard. We’ve cared deeply. And we’re proud of what we’ve built together. To our patients, thank you for letting us serve you. To our team, thank you for showing up. We hope this season gives you everything you need and more.

Merry Christmas from all of us at ZMKC.

Look, we work hard. Like, really hard. So when HR said there’d be a raffle, gifts, and a fashion contest, we showed up in our best outfits ready to steal the show, and ready to win something.

The fashion contest got competitive. People were strutting like their lives depended on it. The raffle had folks clutching their tickets like lottery winners. And yes, someone did that one dance move they’ve been secretly practicing in their living room. We all saw it. We all cheered anyway.

At the staff party a today, Our staff came together, on their own, and presented the Medical Director Dr. Olatise with a cheque for two million naira because they wanted him to know what he’s built here actually means something to them.

This isn’t just about the money. It’s about what it represents. He works with us, he’s at the hospital 6 days a week, seeing his patients, being an active participant to their care. It’s also from nurses who’ve worked double shifts and still felt seen. It’s from support staff who know their names matter here. It’s every person who’s watched him fight to keep this place running like a family when it would’ve been easier to let it feel like just another job.

He has spent years making sure patients walk in and feel safe. Making sure staff walk in and feel valued. And today, they wanted to give something back. Thank you for caring about people, not just protocols.
We’ve seen a lot in our years here, but watching our team do this, watching them put their own money together because they genuinely wanted to honor someone who’s honored them? Proud moment.

We’re proud of this moment. Proud of this team. And so deeply grateful for a leader who makes people want to show up and give their best.

These are the people who made this year what it was. The early mornings, the long shifts, the moments that tested us. They stayed. They cared. They kept this place running. Grateful doesn’t even cover it❤️ We took out one day to celebrate our ZMKC family.

Something’s growing here…

We’re making room for better care. Faster service.
A hospital that doesn’t feel like such a hard place to be when you or someone you love needs help.

ZMKC 2.0 is coming.
We’re building a place that keeps up with the work we’re already doing. Where patients don’t wait as long. Where families can breathe a little easier. Where our team has the space they need to do what they do best.
This is one big step forward.

We’re excited. And we can’t wait to let you in.

Welcome back home! 🇳🇬
Your body went international but now it’s back to dealing with heat, mosquitoes with vengeance, and Detty December madness. This isn’t your typical “drink water and rest” advice, this is your actual survival guide nobody told you about before you landed.
From heat stroke (because that AC body is NOT ready) to malaria prevention, alcohol warnings, and we’re covering everything your abroad body needs to know.
Swipe through all 5 slides. Screenshot what matters. Share with your IJGB friends who are about to come in or are here already.
And yes, you really do need sunscreen. We’ll explain.
Stay safe, stay hydrated, and welcome home. ❤️

December is here. The last stretch of the year, the soft landing, the deep breath everyone has been waiting for. This month we’re coming with a mix of gratitude, reflection and a quiet push to finish strong in whatever way you can.

Welcome to December🤗

We hosted students from Longford International School on November 25th. And these brilliant minds asked better questions than even some adults do.

One wanted to know if our ICU nurses ever get scared during emergencies. Someone else asked how much math you actually need for surgery (answer: way more than he wanted to hear)😆

Our doctors didn’t have rehearsed answers ready for some of these questions. That’s how you know the questions are good.

That’s why we do these visits.
Thanks for coming, Longford students.
We’re rooting for you.

Antibiotic resistance isn’t some distant problem. It’s already here.
In 2019, drug-resistant infections caused 1.27 million deaths and played a part in almost 5 million. That’s not a small number. That’s a global health system choking on a problem we helped create.

Misuse and overuse of antibiotics in humans, animals and even crops keep making germs stronger. Low and middle income countries take the hardest hit because limited access to care makes the consequences heavier.

The scary part is that AMR puts routine medicine at risk. A simple surgery, a caesarean section or even chemotherapy becomes far more dangerous when antibiotics stop working.

So:
Take all medications as prescribed.
Take the entire course of prescribed antibiotics, even if you feel better.
Don’t take antibiotics if you don’t need them.

Use antibiotics wisely. Protect yourself. Protect everyone.

Today was a proud moment for our very own Medical Director, Dr. Olalekan Olatise.
From standing with the next generation of medical doctors at the University of Abuja’s induction ceremony to receiving the Distinguished Award of Excellence, it was a reminder of what steady work and impact look like.

The award recognized the support given toward strengthening the College of Health Sciences and improving its infrastructure for accreditation.
It wasn’t done for applause, but it’s good to see the effort create real change.

Congratulations to our MD. This is what leadership in healthcare should feel like.

International Men’s Day shows up once a year to remind us of something we often skip past. Men carry a lot, even when they pretend everything is fine. They deal with pressure to be strong, steady, unshaken, and half the time they’re figuring things out on the go like everyone else.

Today is about celebrating their strength, but it’s also about acknowledging their health, their mental wellbeing, and the fact that support isn’t a weakness. It’s a lifeline.
So to the men in our lives, from fathers to brothers to friends, we appreciate you. Your presence matters. Your health matters. Your joy matters.

Happy International Men’s Day. 💙
