✨ A Night Shift Story Every Woman Should Read ✨
✍️That night on call started like every other one. I had just settled in when a lady walked into the hospital with her friend. I went to her gently and asked what brought her in. To my surprise, she refused to talk. She insisted she wanted to see the doctor directly and did not want to go through the normal procedure of first seeing the nurse in OPD.
👔I tried to explain to her that this step is important — not to waste her time, but so we can get her details, take her vitals, and make sure the doctor has all the information needed to help her. But she kept resisting, raising her voice, insisting that she didn’t want to repeat her story.
🧶Eventually, after much back and forth, I had to call the doctor. Even then, she only reluctantly gave me her hospital card so I could register her without the usual questions. When the doctor came in, I joined for the consultation as he insisted I do so.
👁️And that was when the truth came out.
👀She had been struggling with bacterial vaginosis for over a year — constant itching, unusual discharge, discomfort she had tried to hide. She told us she had suffered multiple miscarriages, tried every local remedy she knew, even herbs, but nothing worked. It was only after losing so much — including pregnancies — that she finally decided to come to the hospital.
🗣️That night reminded me of something very important: silence can be more dangerous than the illness itself.
🩺 Please, whenever you notice something unusual — va**nal itching, burning, discharge, bleeding, or anything affecting your reproductive health — don’t hide it. Don’t wait until it gets worse. Don’t be ashamed. We are here to help, not to judge.
Your openness could save your health, your pregnancy, and even your life. ❤️
