Today, Tuesday, 10th November, 2025, marks a significant and historic moment for our Chapter as our able and visionary Chairman, Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Tilde, officially handed over the mantle of leadership to the incoming Chairman, Dr. Mansur Isma’il, his Vice Chairman, in a smooth and orderly transition.

This follows Dr. Tilde's recent election as the National Financial Secretary of NVMA, a testament to the exceptional leadership he demonstrated in Bauchi State.

Under Dr. Tilde's stewardship, the NVMA Bauchi State Chapter witnessed unprecedented growth and recorded landmark achievements that have laid a solid foundation for the future. His tenure has been truly transformative, marked by:

📌Legacy Project: The construction of a state-of-the-art NVMA Secretariat, now successfully roofed.

📌Recognition Culture: Introduction of merit awards and awards to distinguished personalities.
📌Strategic Partnership: Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yankari Game Reserve.
📌Institutional Memory: The inauguration of the Elders Forum to guide the chapter.
📌Digital Transformation: Implementing the digitalization of clinic records for efficiency.
📌Government Relations: Excellent and proactive communication with the government.
📌United Front:Fostering remarkable unity and solidarity among members.

We express our profound gratitude to Dr. Tilde for his selfless service, visionary leadership, and indelible contributions. We pray for God Almighty’s guidance, wisdom, and success upon him as he takes on his new national assignment. May he continue to make Bauchi State proud.

Lessons learnt from the pandemic

- The pandemic is a One Health issue
- An efficient One Health surveillance system is needed

- Targeted health prevention means developing resilient socioecological systems
