Congratulations, UCTH!
The University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) has once again demonstrated excellence, being selected among only 10 institutions nationwide to participate in the Safe Blood Project an initiative of the National Blood Services Agency (NBSA) in collaboration with Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) and Universitätsmedizin Greifswald (UMG), Germany.
As part of its commitment to capacity building and institutional development, UCTH joins this prestigious program aimed at establishing a national network of trained professionals who uphold best practices in clinical haemotherapy, blood donation services, transfusion medicine, blood banking, and compatibility diagnostics.
Funded through a grant from the Else-Kroner-Fresenius Foundation, the Safe Blood Project is designed to strengthen the safety, quality, and ethical standards of blood transfusion practices across Nigeria through advanced training, mentorship, and continuous quality improvement.
We proudly celebrate our outstanding representatives for their dedication and excellence. Your efforts continue to uphold UCTH’s image as a leader in innovation, safety, and quality healthcare delivery.
👏 Well done, Team UCTH we are proud of you!
