When able-bodied men, or anyone for that matter, engage in a quarrel that resembles behaviors often stereotypically associated with women, it's not about gender but rather the emotional dynamics and communication at play. The key to bringing peace to any conflict is to approach the situation with empathy, patience, and a willingness to understand different perspectives.

The responsibility for bringing peace typically falls on:

1. **Mediators or Peacemakers**: These can be friends, family, or neutral parties who listen without judgment and help de-escalate tensions.

2. **The Individuals Involved**: Ultimately, both parties engaged in the quarrel must be willing to reflect on themselves, communicate openly, and seek a resolution.

3. **Anyone Who Seeks Harmony**: Anyone present who values peace and mutual respect should encourage understanding and help guide the conversation toward a resolution.

Peace is often achieved when individuals focus less on who is right or wrong and more on how to move forward constructively.

Thursday, 12th of May, 2022 I joined the European Union Agents for Citizen-Driven Transformation (EU-ACT) Programme, the USAID Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE) Programme, the National Technical Committee (NTC) on Civil Society Self-Regulation, the British Council, State actors like the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Corporate Affairs Commission, the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering's (SCUML), INGO, CSO and faith based organization to validate and launch of the framework.

The benefits and essence of the SRF/civil society self-regulation range from restoring public trust within the Nigerian civil society; ensuring civil society’s responsibility to engage and impact positively in the Nigerian society; ensuring civil society is accountable to its stakeholders - beneficiaries/communities, employees, donors, government and general public; as well protecting the Nigerian civic space from shrinking and undue government interference through policies and laws.

It was an avenue to learn and relearn while connecting with the critical stakeholders in the Nonprofit space. I am privilege to be among the selected delegates and I am happy it will help change the dealing in Voice for Africa Development Initiative.

Water is Life...

Life on earth cannot survive without water. It is a precious natural resource which supports all human, plant and animal life.

This little children usually scoop water from the ground under the Bode Saadu/Ilorin bridge after school hours because rain fall had stopped.

Sometimes I wonder because during the rainy season this bridge is usually flooded and is linked to the river Niger but it almost dry now.

God is really great. The community needs water and other good things of life you too can be of help. Let ensure access to water and sanitation for all.

Do you Know...

Yes do you Know that the month of September every year is the Sickle Cell Awareness Month and many of our loved ones who are warriors and are striving hard to winning the war might be struggling to boost their immune system so as to stay far from the corridors of our healthcare facility.

VAD Initiative will be having a discussion session on the lives and challenges of these warriors.

Date and Time will be communicated soon.

Watch out.

VAD Initiative tips for warriors out there and will surely boost your immune system:-

- Make good nutrition a family affair so your child doesn't feel punished when they're drinking milk and everyone else has a soft drink.
- Eat from a rainbow of fruits and vegetables paired with grains, proteins (such as eggs, fish, chicken, lean meat, beans or tofu) and nuts.
- Get plenty of calcium-rich foods such as low-fat or fat-free milk, yogurt, and cheese, leafy green vegetables and calcium-fortified foods such as soymilk, orange juice and tofu.
- Provide healthy, high-calorie foods including dried fruit, nuts and nut butters, or smoothies if your child doesn't have much of an appetite.
- Discuss vitamin D testing and supplementation with your healthcare provider. - While sun exposure, eggs, fortified milk and yogurt provide vitamin D, it often is difficult to replenish vitamin D with food alone.
- Encourage plenty of water to prevent constipation.
- Forgo sugar-sweetened drinks for milk or calcium-fortified orange juice, which provide better nutrition.

Understandably, it may be easier said than done. Busy families find cooking at home to be challenging. Enjoying a meal together as a family is important, especially for a child with a chronic illness.
