We often relive our worst moments instead of letting go. We pick at emotional wounds and refuse to allow healing to take place, which means the pain lingers. We may even feel compelled to ensure that someone else experiences the same hurt we have just felt. We cling to resentments that occupy our minds, waste our time, and keep us feeling angry and depressed. This can even lead to physical illness and, in some cases, can be life-threatening. It’s high time we forgive the “self” and let healing start.
