Chestrad Global

Chestrad Global Our purpose is to be African-led, country impacting, and global influencing. Adetokunbo Lucas.

“An African-led networked social enterprise to amplify southern thought leadership in global health, sustainably finance universal access to inputs to survive, thrive and excel throughout the continuum of life and contribute to human capital development“ Chestrad Global consolidates the achievement of its three network members in Africa, Europe and the Americas, and of its country partners (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Senegal) over nearly 30 years. Chestrad Global consolidates the pathfinding achievement of its network members and country partners to scale known interventions and deliver global public goods – health, nutrition, early learning, financial services, sustainable livelihood and human capital development – to women, children and young people. Our implementation approaches seek to achieve sustainability through blended financing, transforming development financing in Africa from dependence on aid to reliance on domestic resources and blended financing. Our vision is to be a leading ethical African-led social enterprise that sustainably finances universal access to assets to survive, thrive, and excel throughout the continuum of life. Chestrad Global’s mission is to harness multi-sector evidence and approaches to deliver global public goods in Africa, promote the use of data and evidence to advocate and demand accountability for equitable, responsive and sustainable universally accessible health systems to deliver life-saving health inputs and improve service coverage in Africa’. Our network partners are active at global, regional, national, and sub-national levels. Over the past 3 decades, our reach and impact have evolved from a purely Nigerian based research and advocacy organization into a reputable global African-led non-state social enterprise and development agency. Flagship initiatives include
(a) I Will Give Africa, a multi-stakeholder platform to disrupt traditional norms of development financing in Africa, shifting paradigms towards blended financing with emphasis on community giving, philanthropy, and social impact investments

(b) Tariro, a social impact programme that responds to the impact of COVID19 on chronic gender inequality and social justice through impact investments in global public goods (health, early learning, nutrition and financial services) towards human capital development

(c) ComCOVID - an initiative that promotes community collectives and citizen's led action against the SARS-Cov-2 virus. ComCOVID empowers citizen’s led platforms to improve access to test and treatment interventions, isolation, and treatment through integration of COVID19 supplies into PHC commodities supply chain management. (d) African Health and COVID19 Infodemic Management Collaborative, which seeks to promote vaccine equity through the management of myths and facts about the COVID19. The collaborative seeks to support adherence to COVID19 risk reduction guidance and reduce vaccine rejection through infodemic management and support of the global campaign on health and vaccine equity
