TONSILLITIS (SORE THROAT,SCARLET FEVER, VINCENT ANGINA)
It begins with common cold. The throat may be red and hurt when the child swallows. The tonsils (2 lymph nodes seen as lumps on each side at the back of the throat) may become swollen and painful or drain pus. There may be fever (body temperature may reach 40°C)
It is caused by Group A Streptococcus, also called Streptococcus pyogenes. It is a beta hemolytic streptococcus that infect throat and tonsils.
It can be diagnosed by STREP A TEST KIT,an antibody rapid test cassette in whole blood, serum or plasma
👉 💊 TREATMENT:
⏩Gargle with very warm salt water (1 teaspoon of salt in a glass of water).
⏩Take aspirin or paracetamol
⏩ If your STREP THROAT(STREP A TEST KIT) is positive, it is good to include antibiotics, like septrin or tetracycline or penicillin.
