A virtue necessary in healthcare system
Have you ever been in pain? Have you or anyone you know ever felt so sick and was welcomed dispassionately by a health worker at a healthcare establishment before? A lack of empathy, a display of no sympathy!
I have experienced it and let me tell you how I felt
An addition of insult to my injury. I felt so angry, i had to hold myself back from showing how bad I actually felt,
If all healthcare workers adopt the attitude, the virtue to empathize with each patient, then we will have a better healthcare system.
