National Association Of Taraba State Medical Students (NATAMS) Health Week and National Convention
The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Taraba State Government, Hon. Dr. Bordiya Gbansheya Buma, attended the NATAMS public lecture and the official launch of the TAMED Magazine, where he served as the Special Guest of Honour.
In his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner commended the leadership of the National Association of Taraba State Medical Students (NATAMS), under the leadership of Usman Sanusi Bakondi, for organizing such an enlightening and impactful public lecture. He emphasized the critical role of medical students in the development of the state’s health sector and reaffirmed that the administration of His Excellency, Governor Agbu Kefas, is fully committed to ensuring the retention of medical and dental graduates upon the completion of their studies.
Also speaking at the event, the Head of the Civil Service, Taraba State Government, Dr. Kara Ahmed, disclosed that arrangements are underway to ensure the prompt implementation of the bonding policy, which will enable medical students to focus and study effectively. He further announced ongoing plans to extend the bonding policy to nursing students.
Other dignitaries present at the event included the Chief Medical Director, Hospital Services Management Board, Dr. Garba Danjuma, who served as a guest speaker and delivered a lecture on Lassa Fever; the Director-General, Taraba State AIDS Control Agency (TACA), Dr. Bako Ali Istifanus; the Chief Medical Director, Specialist Hospital, Dr. Alex Maiangwa; the Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care, Dr. Tukura Nyigwa; the Executive Secretary, SEMA; Honourable Member, Hajjiya Batulu; the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Taraba State; and several other distinguished guests.
The Honourable Commissioner for Health concluded by reaffirming the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to promoting and strengthening healthcare delivery across Taraba State.
