The AMR Club, Kaduna State University, successfully concluded its 2025 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week activities with the first-ever AMR Community Awareness Walk in Kaduna State.
The walk covered major routes including Gulf Course Road, Yakubu Gowon Way, Ahmadu Bello way, Katsina Road, and Independence Way, bringing antimicrobial resistance education directly to residents within these communities.
Through strategic engagement, distribution of educational materials, and one-on-one conversations, the walk reached over 500 members of the public, raising awareness on:
The growing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
The dangers of antibiotic misuse and self-medication
The importance of hygiene, vaccination, and infection-prevention practices
The role of the community in safeguarding the effectiveness of antibiotics
This landmark activity was organized in collaboration with:
Kaduna State University Medical Students Association (KASUMSA)
Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students (PANS) – Public Health Committee
The AMR Club KASU extends its appreciation to all volunteers, partners, and supporting organizations whose dedication made this community-impact initiative possible. Together, we remain committed to strengthening antimicrobial stewardship and promoting a healthier Kaduna.
