Do you know that we are blessed with many plants that can help in the prevention and management of various types of diseases?
Oh yes! A whole lot of plants, of which we are familiar with many.
This plant is known as beetroot and research has shown that it has various medicinal important. It can be use as an anti- diabetic remedy in the management of diabetes, anti- inflammatory and also as a potent anticancer agents.
Although, its uses in the management of cancer is still under review.
This plant can be enjoyed in a various ways which will be explained in our next post.
You can take it like a herbal medicine or better still use it in form of food .
Our next post will shade more light into how it can be enjoyed.

HEALTH BENEFIT OF DRINKING WATER.

Recommended intake
How much water we need to consume is influenced by the climate.
The amount of water needed each day varies from person to person, depending on how active they are, how much they sweat, and so on.

There is no fixed amount of water that must be consumed daily, but there is general agreement on what a healthy fluid intake is.

This would be around 15.5 cups for men and just over 11 cups for women. However, around 80 percent of this should come from drinks, including water, and the rest will be from food.

Times when it is most important to drink plenty of water include:

when you have a fever
when the weather is hot
if you have diarrhea and vomiting
when you sweat a lot, for example, due to physical activity.

It is very important for everyone to make drinking enough water everyday at the top of their priority list, you don't have to get thirsty before drinking water.

Below are our habit of drinking water if you fall under any category apart from number 1 then you should work toward being in number 1 category.

HABITS OF DRINKING WATER.
1. Those who drink water consistently, this set of people can drink water like fish. (Excellent)
2. Those who drink water only when they get thirsty. (Fair)
3.And the worst of them all those who drink water only when they want to eat. (Very Very Bad).

HEALTH BENEFIT OF DRINKING WATER.

Water is crucial for many bodily functions, such as lubricating the joints, delivering oxygen throughout the body, preventing kidney damage, urinary tract infections e.t.c
Also when dehydrated, the skin can become more vulnerable to skin disorders and wrinkling.

Dehydration happens if we use and lose more water than the body takes in. i.e if the amount of water we drink is less than the amount the body use or lose in form of sweat or urine.

Here are some reasons our body needs water:

1. It lubricates the joints which contains around 80 percent water.
Long-term dehydration can cause joint pain.

2. It delivers oxygen throughout the body.
Blood is more than 90 percent water, and blood carries oxygen to different parts of the body.

3. It boosts skin health and beauty
With dehydration i.e lack of water, the skin can become more vulnerable to skin disorders and premature wrinkling.

4. It regulates body temperature
Scientists have suggested that when there is too little water in the body, heat storage increases and the individual is less able to tolerate strenuous activity like exercise.

5. The digestive system depends on it
The bowel needs water to work properly. Dehydration can lead to digestive problems, constipation, and an overly acidic stomach. This increases the risk of heartburn and stomach ulcers.

6. It helps maintain blood pressure.
Lack of water can cause blood to become thicker, increasing blood pressure.

7.It prevents kidney damage
The kidneys regulate fluid in the body. Insufficient water can lead to kidney stones and other problems and the leading cause of kidney stones is lack of water.
Water helps dissolve minerals and nutrients, making them more accessible to the body. It also helps remove waste product.
