DR. SANUSI OHIARE JOINS GOVERNOR ODODO TO PAY LAST RESPECTS TO HIS DEPARTED FATHER
The former Executive Director of Rural Electrification Fund (REF), Dr. Sanusi Ohiare, was today among dignitaries who paid a condolence visit to the Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, following the passing of his father.
The Governor’s father, Adayi Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani, an esteemed elder statesman, died on Monday, August 18, 2025, after a brief illness. His interment was held at the family residence in Upogoro, Okene Local Government Area, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Dr. Ohiare joined Governor Ododo and his immediate predecessor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, at the solemn gathering. They were accompanied by a delegation of senior government officials and community stakeholders who came to offer their sympathies and pay their last respects.
In a statement, Dr. Ohiare described today as one of “solemn reflection.” He offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased and asked for divine strength for the grieving family.
“I offered prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul and asked Allah, in His infinite mercy, to grant the Governor and the entire family the fortitude to bear this profound loss,” Dr. Ohiare stated. “He was a beloved father and a true elder statesman who will be deeply missed.”
The late Adayi Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani is remembered as a pillar of his community and a devoted father whose legacy is carried on through his son’s service to the state. The atmosphere at the residence was described as a profound mix of grief and reverence for a life well-lived.
