Many drivers think the battery powers the car while driving.
It does not.

Once your engine starts, the alternator takes over.
The alternator is responsible for generating electricity while the engine is running. It powers your headlights, dashboard, fuel pump, ignition system, audio system, and charges the battery at the same time.

Without a working alternator, your vehicle will run only until the battery drains — then it shuts down.
What the alternator does:
• Converts mechanical energy into electrical energy
• Charges the battery while driving
• Powers all electrical systems
• Maintains proper voltage levels

Common signs of a failing alternator:
• Battery warning light on
• Dim or flickering headlights
• Electrical accessories malfunctioning
• Slow engine cranking
• Strange whining or grinding noise
• Frequent dead battery

If the alternator overcharges, it can damage the battery and sensitive electronics. If it undercharges, the battery will keep dying even after replacement.
Many people replace the battery without testing the alternator first.

That small charging system test can save you money and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
If your car stalls while driving and everything electrical goes dark, the alternator is often the culprit.

Boko Haram terrorists have intercepted and set ablaze three trucks loaded with fish at Mile fourty area of Magumeri Local Government area of Borno state.

The attack happened around 1pm on Thursday when the drivers were transporting the fish to Maiduguri.
All the drivers escaped but the three vehicles were burnt down by the terrorists.

On February 10 2026, same terrorists intercepted four trailers loaded with cows on their way to Maiduguri from Monguno stealing 100 cows before burning the vehicles.

May Almighty God expose perpetrators of dastard acts like this. Amen/ Ameen
