High blood pressure.....a silent killer
High blood pressure(HBP) is a condition in which the long term effect of the blood pushing against the walls of your blood vessels is sufficiently high that it can put a strain on your heart and hearden the blood vessels leading to increased risk of cardiovascular diseases including heart attack and stroke.
Causes
A diet high in saturated fat
Low intake of fruits and vegetables
Eating too much salt
Excessive intake of alcohol
Smoking
Living a sedentary life
Family history of high pertention
Symptoms
Mild and moderate may not produce any symptoms for years.
The first symptoms may appear in the form of pain toward the back of the head and neck on waking in the morning which may soon disappears.
Some of the other usual symptoms include
Irregular heart rhythms
Vision problems
Severe headaches
Pain in the chest
Weakness, confusion and anxiety
Breathing difficulty
Nose bleeds
Simple ways to keep blood pressure down
Maintain a healthy weight
Exercise regularly
Reduce sodium(salt) in your diet
Eat diet rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low - fat diary products and reduce consumption of food with saturated fat and cholesterol
Cut down on alcohol and beverages
Limit or avoid smoking
Reduce stress
Simple way to cure HPB
Get a good quantity of phyllantus amarus leaves (eyin olobe), and moringa leaves,wash thoroughly, boil or prepare as tea
Take half tea cup once daily for a month
OR
Get a good quantity of sandpaper leaves, was thoroughly with salt water, squeeze with water, take a glass cup 3 times daily
