An HPV (Human Papillomavirus) test is a medical test used to detect the presence of HPV in a patient's body. Here are some key points about the HPV test:

3.â â Pap test (Pap smear): This test examines cervical cells for abnormal cell changes.
When Is the HPV Test Conducted?
The HPV test is usually conducted on women aged 30-65 years. It's often done alongside a Pap test. Your healthcare provider may recommend an HPV test if:

2.â â Positive: HPV DNA or RNA detected, indicating possible cervical cell abnormalities.
3.â â Inconclusive or unclear: Test results are unclear and require re-testing.
Preparing for the HPV Test
1.â â Avoid vaginal creams, douches or sexual activity 48 hours before testing.
2.â â Schedule the test when you're not menstruating.
