As women, periods are something we learn to manage.

We take painkillers and keep going.
We cancel plans when the pain gets too much.
We carry extra pads because the bleeding is heavier than usual.
And tell ourselves, “It’s just part of being a woman.”

But when your period consistently disrupts your daily life, your body may be trying to get your attention.

Heavy bleeding and severe menstrual pain can sometimes be signs of underlying conditions like uterine fibroids or endometriosis.

You deserve to understand what your body is experiencing and you deserve the right support.

At DébboAfrica, women can speak with specialists, access diagnostic tests, and get guidance designed specifically for women’s health.

If your period has been difficult to manage for a while, this might be a good time to start the conversation.

Many of us live with symptoms they’ve been told are ‘normal.’
Heavy periods. Constant fatigue. Hormonal changes.

But sometimes… your body is trying to tell you something.

On International Women’s Day, DébboAfrica spent the day with the amazing women of creating space for an important conversation about something many women rarely get the time to truly understand their bodies.

In a room filled with hardworking women across different roles and schedules, we talked about things that affect women every single day but are often overlooked:

• How hormones influence mood, energy, and menstrual cycles
• Symptoms and signs women should never ignore
• Why understanding your reproductive health is key to long-term wellbeing
• And how early screenings and preventive care can make a life-changing difference.

Our session was led by , who guided the conversation with clarity and compassion helping women connect everyday experiences with what may actually be happening inside their bodies.

Because the truth is simple:

When women understand their bodies, they take better care of themselves.

And when workplaces create space for women’s health conversations, they create healthier, stronger teams.

At DébboAfrica, we work with organisations to bring women’s health education, screenings, and specialist consultations directly to the workplace making it easier for women to prioritise their health without disrupting their daily responsibilities.

If your organisation is looking to support the women who power your workforce, we’d love to partner with you.

Send us a DM or email to learn how DébboAfrica can bring women’s health talks, screenings, and corporate wellness programs to your team.

Because healthier women build stronger workplaces.

Workplaces are made stronger by the people who show up every day bringing their skills, ideas, and dedication to the work they do.

For many women, prioritising health often gets pushed down the list in the middle of busy schedules and responsibilities.

That’s why access to convenient, trusted healthcare matters.

At DébboAfrica, we partner with organisations to make women’s health support more accessible through services such as virtual consultations, home sample collection, and on-site screenings.

It’s a simple step that helps make preventive care easier to prioritise.

For many women, life moves quickly.

Between responsibilities, expectations, and caring for others, it’s easy to move through the days without pausing to ask yourself what you need.

At DébboAfrica, our wish for women is simple this International Women’s Day — more grace.

More grace to share the weight you’ve been carrying.
More grace to speak to someone and feel heard without judgment.
More grace to choose yourself without guilt.

Because putting yourself first is not something women should have to earn. It is something you deserve.

So this year, allow yourself that permission.
Be gentle with yourself.
Care for yourself the way you care for everyone else.

Happy International Women’s Day to every woman navigating life with courage, resilience, and quiet strength. 🤍

There’s a quiet cost to always being last on your own list.

It shows up as unexplained fatigue.
Symptoms you’ve normalised.
A body asking for attention you haven’t had time to give.

You didn’t ignore yourself on purpose.
Life just kept coming.

But the longer care is deferred, the fewer options there are.
Prevention gives you time. Late detection takes it.

This IWD month, give yourself what you give everyone else:
Time. Attention. Care.
