Dr. Seye Akinsete is a consultant pediatric hemato-oncologist at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital with over 10 years of experience in Pediatric Oncology care in Nigeria. In 2016, he obtained an International Fellowship at the Hematology-Oncology-Stem Cell Transplant Department of Birmingham Children’s hospital. Dr. Akinsete is a fellow of the West African College of Physicians, Faculty of Pediatrics, and currently serves on the board of the Dorcas Cancer Foundation.

Meet Our Speakers

Dr. Mailhot is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida.

His areas of treatment and research include proton therapy for pediatric cancer, breast cancer and lymphoma.

He completed his undergraduate and medical training at Washington University in St. Louis and post graduate training at Harvard University and New York University, where he served as Chief Resident.

He has published multiple research articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented research at international medical conferences. His academic and professional honors include the J. Max Rukes Full Tuition Merit Scholarship, Washington University School of Medicine; Merit Scholarship, Harvard School of Public Health; Jonathan Mann Foreign Rotation Fellowship Award; and American Society of Clinical Oncology Conquer Cancer Fellowship Award.

He serves on the committee for the American Society for Radiation Oncology.

He is a national board member on the Hodgkin Lymphoma Committee of Children's Oncology Group.

Meet Our Speakers

Dr. Stephen Avery is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and he serves on the site-specific chart rounds group for Pediatrics.

As a Clinician-Educator, he conducts research that focuses on Global Health and quality assurance in radiation therapy treatment delivery. He actively serves on committees within my department, school, nationally, and internationally to expand medical physics education and research to a diverse community.

Dr. Avery served as Director of the CAMPEP accredited UPenn Medical Physics Graduate Group, medical physics convener for the African School of Fundamental Physics/Applications, member of the Education and Training committee for AORTIC, and currently the chair of the Global Medical Physics and Training Committee for the American Association of Medical Physicists.

His interest in diversity in conjunction with Global Health initiatives in medical physics; has encouraged him to continue with his efforts to recruit diverse students around the world to medical physics.

Dr. Bradley is a University of Florida Department of Radiation Oncology faculty member and specializes in pediatrics, breast cancer, and gynecologic malignancies.

Prior to joining the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute, she completed her residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. An experienced researcher, her work is published in medical journals and textbooks, and she has presented her research at peer-reviewed conferences such as the American Radium Society and the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), where she was awarded the “Best of ASTRO 2009.”

She is a member of several professional societies including ASTRO, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Derek Tsang is a radiation oncologist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto. He completed his medical training at Queen’s University, followed by a residency at the University of Toronto. He obtained fellowship training in pediatric radiation oncology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and has a Masters’ degree in clinical epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Tsang joined the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in 2017. His clinical practice includes pediatric oncology, adult neuro-oncology, and stereotactic radiosurgery for benign neoplasms.
