Understanding Vaginitis🧐🩺👇

Vaginitis is an inflammation or infection of the va**na, often causing discharge, itching, irritation, or odor. It can result from infection, imbalance in va**nal flora, or irritation from chemicals or allergens.

🛑Main Causes & Types

1. Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)
•Overgrowth of Gardnerella va**nalis and anaerobic bacteria
•Thin, gray-white discharge, fishy odor (especially after s*x), va**nal pH >4.5, clue cells on wet mount

2. Candidiasis (Yeast Infection)
•Candida albicans
•Thick, white “cottage cheese” discharge, intense itching, redness, pH usually normal (≤4.5), budding yeast/hyphae on KOH prep

3. Trichomoniasis
•Trichomonas va**nalis (protozoan parasite)
•Frothy yellow-green discharge, foul odor, strawberry cervix, pH >4.5, motile trichomonads seen on wet mount

4. Atrophic Vaginitis
•Low estrogen levels (postmenopause, lactation)
•Dryness, irritation, dyspareunia, thin mucosa, pH >4.5

5. Noninfectious/Allergic Vaginitis
•Soaps, detergents, sprays, condoms, etc.
•Burning, irritation, minimal discharge, no infection on test

🛑Diagnosis
• History & Physical Exam
• Vaginal pH test
• Normal: 3.8–4.5
• BV or Trichomoniasis: >4.5
• Wet mount / KOH prep
• Clue cells → BV
• Hyphae/yeast → Candida
• Motile trichomonads → Trichomoniasis
• Whiff test: Fishy odor after adding KOH → BV positive
• Culture or NAAT (for confirmation if needed)

Noninfectious
•Avoid irritants; use mild soaps, topical hydrocortisone if needed

🛑Patient Education
• Avoid douching or scented feminine products
• Wear breathable cotton underwear
• Complete prescribed medications even if symptoms improve
• Encourage partner treatment for Trichomoniasis

Not every mother who goes in for surgery comes out.. not because of fate, but because someone tried to cut costs.

Every mother deserves a safe delivery, not just a successful surgery.
Sometimes, that safety doesn’t depend on the surgeon’s hands…
it depends on who is standing by your head …your anesthetist.

I’ve seen mothers wheeled in for emergency caesarean sections,
scared, shaking, whispering silent prayers.
Their only wish? Is to wake up and hear her baby’s cry.

But do you know what makes that wish come true?
It’s not just skill, it’s teamwork and safety protocols.
It’s the anesthetist who ensures your heart keeps beating,
your oxygen keeps flowing,
and your body stays stable throughout the procedure.

Now listen to this truth..

General anesthesia is not the first choice in obstetrics.
It’s a last resort used when spinal or regional anesthesia is not safe or possible.
And it must be administered by a trained anesthetist not just anyone who can give injections.

Yet, in some low-standard hospitals, you will hear phrases like…
“Madam, our anesthetist is not around, but we will manage….Don’t worry, we will just give you something to sleep.”

That “something” has taken lives.
That “managing” has caused tragedies that never make it to social media.

When hospitals try to cut costs by skipping anesthetists, they’re not saving money, they’re risking two lives, the mother and her baby.

Before you sign any surgical consent form, please ask..
Who will handle my anesthesia?
Is there a certified anesthetist on duty?

Because your safety doesn’t begin with the surgery, it begins with the team behind the mask.
And no hospital should gamble with your breath, your heartbeat, or your future.

Two surgeons rest on the operating room floor after removing tumors from a patient’s brain in a surgery that lasted 32 hours.

"The operation involved three surgeons, six anesthesiologists, and eight nurses. Together they performed six separate operations to remove a series of brain tumors from a single patient.

From Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. until Sunday, surgeons worked with great patience at the operating table.

According to the Chinese newspaper the Global Times, this was the longest operation ever undertaken at Fujian Medical University Union Hospital.

One of the surgeons, Dr. Chen Jianping, said about the surgery, ""The patient had both an aneurysm and brain-stem hemangioblastoma. We needed to remove both tumors in one surgery. This required six different surgical procedures to be conducted on the patient. It can be difficult, risky, and time-consuming. If you are removing one tumor, and the other one breaks, it can be fatal.""

During the operation, the doctors took only short breaks, and even the patient's family worried whether the surgeons could handle the physical strain.

But it all turned out well in the end. In the image above, taken shortly after the surgery was completed, one of the surgeons to seen making a V-sign for ""victory."""

This is good news ✌️
God bless our health workers 🙏

Step-by-Step Guide to Using Ovulation Test Strips

1. Know Your Cycle
Track your menstrual cycle to estimate when you might ovulate. Ovulation typically occurs mid-cycle (around day 14 of a 28-day cycle).

You’ll want to start testing a few days before your expected ovulation.

2. Pick the Right Time to Start Testing
Use this general guide:
Cycle Length 21 days → Start on Day 5
Cycle Length 28 days → Start on Day 11
Cycle Length 35 days → Start on Day 18
Day 1 is the first day of your period.

3. Choose the Right Time of Day
Afternoon (10 a.m. – 8 p.m.) is best; avoid testing with first morning urine.
Test at the same time each day.

4. Collect Your Urine Sample
You can either:
Dip directly into a clean container of collected urine, or
Urinate directly onto the test strip (if the brand allows it).

5. Dip the Test Strip
Dip the absorbent tip in urine up to the max line (not over it).
Hold it for 5–10 seconds (check your test’s instructions).

6. Wait for Results
Place the strip flat on a clean surface.
Wait 3–5 minutes (again, check your brand’s instructions).

7. Read the Results
The test strip has two lines: the control line and the test line.
Positive (LH surge): Test line is as dark or darker than control line → Ovulation likely in 24–36 hours.
Negative: Test line is lighter than control line or not visible → No LH surge yet.

Invalid: No control line → retest with a new strip.

8. When to Have S*x
For best chance of pregnancy, have s*x on the day of the LH surge and the day after.

19/09/2025

Umbilical Cord can wrap around your baby’s neck due to the following reasons;

Excess fetal movement
Very active babies can sometimes move in ways that loop the cord around their neck.

Long umbilical cord
A longer cord gives more opportunity for loops or knots to form.

Too much amniotic fluid (polyhydramnios)
Extra fluid gives the baby more room to move, which increases the chances of the cord looping.

Multiple loops or knots in the cord
Some cords naturally form loops or even true knots, which can sometimes wrap around the neck.

Twin or multiple pregnancies
More babies = more movement and interaction with each other's cords.

Baby is in a breech or transverse position
These positions can lead to more twisting and turning.

Loose abdominal wall or uterine tone
Especially in women who’ve had multiple pregnancies, the uterus may be more relaxed, allowing more fetal movement.

Important Note:
A nuchal cord usually forms naturally, without anything the mother did or didn’t do. It’s not preventable and often doesn’t cause any problems. May your baby not experience this in Jesus name 🙏

Plantar Grasp ReflexBabinski reflexin InfantsWhen you gently press the sole of a newborn's foot near the toes, watch how the toes curl inward as if trying to "grasp" your finger! This primitive reflex is present at birth and typically fades by 9 to 12 months of age. Its presence reflects healthy neurological development in early infancy.! If this reflex persists beyond 1 year, it may be a sign of delayed neurological maturation and should be evaluated further.Normal in infants | Abnormal if persistent after12 monthsA simple but powerful clinical tool in pediatric neuro exams!
