Have you noticed this danger?

Here in Nigeria, almost every fever is automatically called malaria, and so many people take malaria medication once they have any fever.

But the problem is this: Fever is also caused by over 100 other diseases that are NOT malaria.

Many people are treating malaria when they actually have something else.

The danger lies in the fact that you might be wasting your time trying to treat the malaria YOU THINK you have when another disease is silently dealing with you and getting worse day by day.

This is one reason why self-medication is dangerous.

But be honest, which one sounds more like what you do?

• Do a test first before taking drugs
• Do a test at a hospital, get a doctor to read the results, then take the drugs the doctor prescribes
• If it feels like malaria, buy drugs at a pharmacy to treat it immediately

Have you ever thought you had malaria and later learnt you had something completely different?

Did you start this holiday thinking...

"First quarter of 2026 is almost over, and I haven't even achieved any of the things I set as my goals for this year." ?

Before you start blaming your "village people" or thinking you’ve lost your touch, let's look at the facts.

The mind governs the affairs of the body, which means there is no health without mental health.

So if you are struggling to hit your targets or finding it hard to stay motivated, it may be a sign that your mental engine needs servicing. Here is why:

Mental wellness is the key to your daily functioning and productivity.

When your mental health is sidelined, your body cannot carry out the plans your mind has made.

Securing your mental wellness is how you unlock your potential and finally achieve that greatness you planned for back in January.

You don't need to feel guilty about not hustling harder; you need a healthy mind to lead you.

If you want to finish the next quarter stronger than the first, check the comments to see how to get a free mental wellness checkup from one of our specialists.

And if you have a friend who is also behind on their 2026 goals, share this post with them.

HAPPY HOLIDAY!

If you find yourself struggling to sleep at night, it’s not your village people at work.

And no, it’s not a sign that something bad is happening to someone you know.

There are many reasons why people find it difficult to sleep at night, but here are the facts:

The parts of the brain that regulate sleep are the same parts that are affected when a person has a mental health condition.

This is why sleep and mental wellness are closely linked.

When a person struggles to sleep, it can be a sign of mental health issues.

And not sleeping can cause mental health problems too.

If you have any concerns, check the comments to see how to get a free mental wellness checkup from one of our specialists.

And if you know someone who needs this information, share this post so they can see it.

Why Is His Heart Beating Like He Just Ran A Marathon?

She checked the gas in her kitchen four times before 8am and mentally rehearsed a conversation that may not happen eventually.

Wahala!

Your chest feels like there’s a small bird trapped inside, flapping its wings against your ribs.

Can you relate?

Could it just be the "Nigerian factor," or is your body trying to tell you something that your mind is too busy to hear?

Here's the truth: All of the above can be symptoms of mental health problems!

If you can relate to any of the symptoms above, send a DM and a mental wellness professional will contact you privately.

"Strong men don't cry."

That’s what a man told his son who was struggling under the weight of debt and a failing business.

In this country, we wear "resilience" like a badge of honor, even when it’s suffocating us.

We call it "spirit of hustle," but the truth is that it's not healthy.

Silence isn't strength; it’s dangerous. Mental health isn't a "village people" matter; it’s a human one.

Rest when you need to. Speak out when you're overwhelmed. Healing only happens when you do so.

Have a wonderful week!

In Nigeria, we "rugged it out." If you aren’t bleeding and you don’t have malaria, people think you’re fine.

But the truth is, your mind isn’t a spare part you can just pick up at Ladipo market.

When it breaks, "suffering and smiling" stops being a song and becomes a tragedy.

• 50 Million Nigerians have mental health problems: That’s 1 in 4 of us living with mental health challenges.
• 1 Psychiatrist to 1 Million people: We have fewer than 300 psychiatrists for 200+ million people.
• The Silent Killer: Su***de is now the second leading cause of death for Nigerians aged 15–29.

Take Chidi, for example. He is the "star" of his family. He survives 4 hours of Lagos traffic daily, pays his siblings' school fees, and handles a toxic boss.

His heart races and he struggles to go to sleep.

When he told his friends he felt "heavy," they said, "Guy, be a man. Drink Stout and forget am." Chidi kept quiet until he finally crashed.

This wasn’t "weakness," it was burnout and anxiety. In Nigeria, we bottle things up until the bottle shatters.

• Many "unexplainable" body pains are just your mind screaming for rest.
• You can’t make good money or lead a family if your brain is on fire.
• Don’t pass your untreated trauma to your children as "strict parenting."

Ruggedness is good, but peace of mind is better.

You don't have to break to prove you're strong to anyone at all, including yourself.

Have an awesome weekend!

Let’s be real.

There are health issues people in Nigeria hide because they’re embarrassed about them.

Piles.
Body odor.
Fertility struggles.
Sexual health problems like ED.
Etc.

Instead of seeing a doctor, they try home remedies they found online.

What’s a common health issue Nigerians pretend doesn’t exist but almost everyone has dealt with?
