I resumed night duty two days previously and was assigned to a patient. I have provided compassionate care to this patient.
Little did I know that the patient is a priest and, coincidentally, my sister's husband and my secondary school friend's brother-in-law.
Upon resuming duty tonight, I was taken aback to see some familiar faces walking into my unit. I composed myself and greeted Mr. Chigood, my friend's husband. Looking behind, I saw my friend, whom I had not seen for a long time.
My joy was overwhelming.
