*WOMEN HEALTH*
*Uterine fibroids*
Also called *Leiomyomas of the uterus are* non-cancerous tumors that arise from the overgrowth of smooth muscle and connective tissue in the uterus.
They appear in child bearing years.
Uterine leiomyomas (fibroids) are the most common benign *gynecologic tumors.*
They primarily affect women of reproductive age, and the estimated incidence of fibroids is over 70% by 50 years of age.
Rarely, fibroids may undergo *malignant degeneration, (* that is become cancerous) to become a *sarcoma.* The incidence of them becoming cancerous is less than 1.0% and has been estimated to be as low as 0.2%
They can be diagnosed through a pelvic ultrasound.
*SYMPTOMS*
Some women with uterine fibroids donβt experience any symptoms.
However the symptoms include
π― Heavy menstrual bleeding
π― .Menstrual periods lasting more than a week. *Prolonged me**es.*
π― .Pelvic pressure or pain
π―. Frequent urination
π― Difficulty emptying the bladder
π―. Constipation
π― Backache or leg pains
*Rarely* , a fibroid can cause
π― acute pain when it outgrows its blood supply, and begins to die or degenerate.
*Classification*
Fibroids are generally classified by their location.
π€·ββοΈ Intramural fibroids grow within the muscular uterine wall.
π€·ββοΈ Submucosal fibroids bulge into the uterine cavity.
π€·ββοΈ Subserosal fibroids project to the outside of the uterus.
*CAUSES / RISK FACTOR*
Research and clinical experience point to these factors:
*π. Genetic* predisposition- if a family member had them, eg your mum, youβre likely to get them.
*π. Hormones*
*Estrogen and progesterone*
, two hormones that stimulate development of the uterine lining during each menstrual cycle in preparation for pregnancy, appear to promote the growth of fibroids.
Fibroids contain more estrogen and progesterone receptors than normal uterine muscle cells do.
Fibroids tend to shrink after menopause due to a decrease in hormone production.
*π Race.*
Although any woman of reproductive age can develop fibroids, *black women* are more likely to have fibroids than are women of other racial groups.
*In addition* ,
black women have fibroids at younger ages, and they're also likely to have more or larger fibroids, along with more-severe symptoms.
*π. Other factors*
Onset of menstruation at an early age;
πobesity;
πA vitamin D deficiency;
πHaving a diet higher in red meat and lower in green vegetables, fruit and dairy;
πAnd drinking alcohol, including beer, appear to increase your risk of developing fibroids.
*Complications*
π‘οΈ. Anaemia due to blood loss.
π‘οΈ. Miscarriages
*Fibroids* usually don't interfere with getting pregnant. However, it's possible that fibroids β especially *submucosal fibroids*
π¦ could cause infertility or pregnancy loss.
π¦ Fibroids may also raise the risk of certain pregnancy complications, such as
π Placental abruption,
πͺΌ Foetal growth restriction and
π¦ Preterm delivery.
*Treatment options*.
Good combination of phytoscience stemcell products.
π₯¦ *Snowphyllforte*
π *Double stemcell*
π
*Crystal cell*
*PREVENTION*
Although researchers continue to study the causes of fibroid tumors, little scientific evidence is available on how to prevent them.
