Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, Campbell Street, Lagos owned by Lagos State Government, is a specialist Hospital that caters for all aspects of Obstetric and Gynaecological problems and also a referral secondary center for many private Hospitals, other Lagos State Government Hospitals, and also from Tertiary Institutions from Lagos environs and Other States. The foundation stone of the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital was laid by Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Gloucester on the 13th of May, 1959. The Hospital was formally declared open by Lady Robertson, wife of the then Governor-General of the Federation of Nigeria on the 20th July, 1960. Before this Hospital was opened, the citizens of Lagos made use of the Maternity Services provided by the then Massey Street Dispensary, attached to the children’s Hospital.

The last two weeks have been nothing short of amazing for the LIMH family!

Our very own Star Boy, Dr. Olufemi Omololu, was appointed as the Permanent Secretary, District VI — a well-deserved recognition of excellence and leadership. 🌟

Many will agree that he has impacted each of us in one way or another, no matter how little.
A man of vision, discipline, and insight, his drive for excellence has stretched us beyond limits we once thought impossible. Though keeping up with his standards can sometimes be challenging (given the environment we work in), one thing remains constant — he taught us EXCELLENCE! 💪

One of his many innovations was the introduction of TGIF on staff platform, and tonight, we proudly keep the flag flying in his honor. 🤭
