Ignoring symptoms won’t make them disappear.
As a pharmacy technician, one thing I see very often is people trying to “manage” symptoms by simply ignoring them. Someone will say, “It’s just small stomach pain,” or “It’s just cough, it will stop,” or “This headache is normal, I’ll just sleep.” But your body doesn’t create symptoms for no reason.
A persistent headache could be from stress, dehydration, lack of sleep, eye strain, or even high blood pressure. When it keeps coming back, it’s your body asking for attention.
A cough that refuses to go away might be from infection, irritation, allergies, or even something deeper in the respiratory system. Taking random antibiotics or ignoring it completely is not the solution.
Stomach pain is another one people ignore a lot. Sometimes it could be something simple like indigestion or hunger, but it could also be gastritis, ulcer, food poisoning, or infection. The body uses pain to signal that something is wrong.
Then there’s constant sneezing. Many people assume it’s nothing, but it could be allergies, dust exposure, cold, or an immune response. Ignoring it without understanding the cause doesn’t solve the problem.
The truth is, symptoms are the body’s warning system. They are the way your body says, “Something is not right here.” Ignoring them doesn’t heal the problem; it only delays the attention it needs.
