Typhoid is caused by bacteria (Salmonella Typhi).
They require different treatments.
The Widal test detects antibodies, not the bacteria itself, and can give false positives. That means many people take antibiotics for typhoid they may not actually have.
Unnecessary antibiotics increase resistance, side effects, and delay proper diagnosis.
Better confirmation often requires blood, stool, or urine culture.
Don’t assume. Test properly.
