WHAT IS THE TRUE MEANING OF CARE?

When you think of Care, what first comes to mind is ....being concerned...being supportive...showing love? Yeah....we understand this much...but do we really act it?

Because, a lot of times what we actually do is observe from afar and you could feel and relate with that challenged or helpless individual, but do nothing about it! if you don't believe me take a walk through the streets of Lagos.

From the humanitarian view or should I say the human-relationship perspective… Care is a process thing; it begins with having compassion irrespective of age, gender, status, religion, economic class, nationality. Then you empathize ...you can actually feel the pain that elderly/disabled/sick/orphaned/less-privileged individual is going through. But it doesn't end there, you finally cap it up by stretching forth a "Helping Hand".

Humanity and humanitarian services today are built on the foundation of care. Care, is all about giving…a lil kindness here and there…a lil sacrifice… put it simply as the willingness to put the need of others first. It is that show of concern to your neighbor in your area, empathizing with your colleague , taking responsibility and the sick in the hospital, lending a helping hand to the elderly on the walkway.... Sounds like a Christian thing…right. But truly this is what really makes us human!
