An infusion pump infuses fluids, medication or nutrients into a patient’s body. It is generally used intravenously, although subcutaneous, arterial and epidural infusions are also used occasionally.

Infusion pump can deliver fluids and other nutrients in such a way that it will be difficult if done by a nurse. E.g., Infusion pump can deliver as little as 0.1 mL per hour injections which cannot be done through a drip injection every minute, or fluids whose volumes vary by the time of day.

The National Hospital of Sri Lanka is a government hospital located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was established in 1864 as the General Hospital. It is the premier hospital in Sri Lanka and is controlled by the central government. The hospital has 18 intensive care units and 21 operating theaters and 3,404 beds.

The National Hospital of Sri Lanka is the biggest in Sri Lanka and one of the top 10 biggest hospitals in the world with 3,404 beds.

In addition, the hospital employs 7,500 staff of whom 1,500 are doctors. The hospital performs 5,000 major and minor surgeries every month and treats over two million patients annually.

Also, it includes Dental Institute, Maligawatte Kidney Hospital, Nurse Training School, Post Basic Nurse Training School, School of Echo Cardiograph, School of Physiotherapy, School of Radiography and Faculty of Medicine of Colombo.

The hospital has 6,760 staff members and is spread over 70 hectares (170 acres). It is located in the Soweto region, south of Johannesburg.

In addition, the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital is one of 40 Gauteng Provincial Hospitals, and is financed and managed by the Gauteng Provincial Health Department.

Also, it is a teaching hospital for the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School, along with the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, Helen Joseph Hospital and Rahima Moses Mother and Child Hospital. It is a recognized Level One Trauma Centre.
