Earlier today, chess icon and changemaker Tunde Onakoya joined our Disability to Ability beneficiaries in commemoration of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities. The room came alive with laughter, inspiration, and unshakeable belief.

Watching our participants engage, learn, and grow filled us with immense pride. Their progress is proof of what happens when opportunity meets determination.

The Disability to Ability Program is a CSR initiative by Lafarge Africa in partnership with LSETF, Lagos State Office of Disability Affairs (LASODA), and the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development. Transforming Education in Ewekoro, Ogun State!

Yesterday, we commissioned the newly remodeled Christian Pelamourges Memorial Baptist Day Nursery and Primary School in Ewekoro Ogun state, a CSR project by Lafarge Africa.

The upgraded school features new classrooms, a furnished computer laboratory, dining and toilet facilities, furniture, playground, and football field.

Through this project, over 400 pupils now have the modern, safe learning environment they deserve.

We are proud to announce the unveiling of the newly rehabilitated Independence Memorial Obelisk at the iconic Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.

The rehabilitation, done in partnership with the Tafawa Balewa Square Management Board focused on structural strengthening, aesthetic renewal, accessibility upgrades, and restoration of symbolic carvings and historical inscriptions, while preserving the monument’s original design and significance.

For Lafarge Africa, the rehabilitation of the Obelisk is a representation of our commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s development through projects that promote history, sustainability, and better living for future generations.

What an inspiring finale it was for our Lagos Female Tilers and Block Laying trainees today.

We express our deepest appreciation to the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende and the Executive Secretary, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, Feyisayo Alayande, for partnering with us on this mission.

Today, with our Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainable Development Director, Viola Graham-Douglas, we celebrated 50 women now equipped to build sustainable careers in tiling and block laying to reshape our industry.
