Some stories do not begin with noise. They begin with a pause - subtle, almost unnoticeable, yet deeply present.

There is nothing dramatic about it. Nothing staged. Just life, in its most honest and uncertain form.

And then, something begins to shift. Not always through grand gestures, but through presence. Through the quiet decision to step closer instead of passing by. Through care that chooses to listen before it speaks, and to understand before it acts.

If you pay attention, you start to notice the change. It shows up gently. In the return of ease where there was once tension. In smiles that slowly find their way back. In a quiet strength that begins to rise again, even in the most ordinary spaces. Because beyond what is given or done, something deeper is taking place. People are being seen. Dignity is being restored. Hope is finding its way back into the rhythm of everyday life.

It is not just about providing support or meeting immediate needs. It is about holding communities together and creating the conditions for lives to be rebuilt, steadily and intentionally.

This is not a headline, and it is not confined to a single moment. It is a continuum, a quiet, consistent unfolding of care and connection that leaves a lasting imprint.

What you are about to watch offers only a glimpse into these lived experiences. They may not always be seen, but they are deeply felt, and their impact endures.

This is how communities are built. This is how lives are built.

Yesterday marked the climax of the four-month-long vocational and entrepreneurial training and empowerment of 100 incredible people living with disabilities. We held a graduation ceremony aimed at celebrating and awarding the beneficiaries who have given their time and commitment to learning market-relevant skills that will afford them better lives and economic leverage through the Disability to Ability program (D2A)

We had the privilege of partnering with Tunde Onakoya, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), and the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development on this impactful project. The beneficiaries were trained in four vocational areas: Phone and Laptop repair, wig and braid making, Makeup and Gele, and Shoe and Bag making.

At Lafarge, we are committed to embracing inclusion across all cadres and redefining what's possible. When we speak about building the future, it goes beyond infrastructure; it's also about building the people around us.

We are grateful to the entire management of Lafarge Africa for the immeasurable support in bringing this initiative to life, and to all our distinguished guest; the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Lagos State, Mobolaji Ogunlende, Executive Secretary, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, Feyisayo Alayande, Permanent Secretary, Wealth Creation and Employment, Lagos State, Ololade Aina; Permanent Secretary, Youth and Social Development, Lagos State, Oluwatoyin Oke-Osanyitolu, we are grateful for your support and collaboration.

Now, unto the next one.
