Active Christianity

Read: Matthew 25: 31 - 46

Christianity is far more than creeds and dogma.
Unfortunately, many people who claim to be older, grounded and even teaching Christians have never sat down to ask themselves what it is all about.

All believers are Priests. (1 Peter 2:9, Rev. 1:5,6) It implies that they represent God to the people and presents the people back to God through intercession and supplication with Jesus Christ being the Chief High priest.
Our texts tell us that nations will be judged based on how people treat the vulnerable, and the disadvantaged ones in the society.

This Judgement will be mostly against the hypocrisy of religion.

People will be sorted as a farmer sorts his herd. What will be the basis? They responded when people were in trouble or in deprivation or in the most vulnerable position they could have found themselves for a season or in life.

The shock of those who will be rejected will be “Lord, there was never a time I met you in the conditions or situations you have mentioned”.
It sounds as though they were saying, Jesus Christ, we know you, we believe in you. There is no way you will be in such a situation and we will not rise up to the occasion with the desire to help.
The master, Jesus Christ will respond to them: 'I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ (Matthew 25:45 NLT)
The Apostle John the beloved puts forward a question to us.
“If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?” (1 John 4:20 NLT)

The Elder James talks about the attitude of some people in their local fellowship. James 2:1-4. People mistreating the poor in their midst. Has that stopped? No!!
Class discrimination and even colour discrimination in some nations still take place with the Church.
Beloved, these things ought not to be so.

When was the last time you reached out to a widow? When was the last time you showed concern for people in trouble?

While the breath of life still remains in us, it is time to make a change. Do not be careless about it. He is coming back again. Those who care are the ones in active Christianity, those who do not care, God is watching.

May your benevolent seed speak for you in the Presence of the Lord of ALL LIVES.

As We Get Towards The End

READ Matthew 24:1-11

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.' (Matthew 24:9-14 NKJV)

When people argue about the Bible not being true, the first question that comes to my mind is “Do these ones listen to the news?”
All anyone needs to verify the Bible now is listen to the news for a brief moment.

Which of the predictions by our Lord here as quoted looks odd, a lie or cannot be verified today?
“Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.” (Matthew 24:12 BSB)
I have observed many people openly declaring that they would no longer be in the Christian faith in recent times. When they were asked to advance the reason for their decision, what they pointed to was how a false Prophet duped them, or how their Church leadership failed to rise up to help them in their time of need for resources or comfort. Pointing to two things - their inability to connect to Christ by themselves and the presence of falsehood in the cloak of religion. This is already predicted.

Many who do not know what the mind of God is have also fallen because the wicked had risen to wealth and they feel it is important for them to leave the parts of righteousness to pursue wealth by whatever means because for them, the paths of righteousness are seen to be restricting. The cross is offensive to them and many others.

In many paths of the world the persecution for Christians and Jews are on the rise in a manner it has never been. Leaders turn blind eyes to the plight of believers being massacred daily in many paths of the world including Nigeria but let a believer as much as say one word against other religions everyone will rise up to condemn such a person. The heat is on as predicted. Only the one who choose to persevere shall be saved. To be a Believer in this dispensation, one has to be ready to go all the way, even to death. There is no turning back. The conviction has to be deep and rooted.

In the midst of false Prophets, hatred and persecutions going on all over the world, beloved saints have increased evangelical efforts. More money is going in. This world must hear for a witness. The day will come!
Glory to God, great harvest are also being recorded! More people are converting to follow Jesus Christ. Great and larger gospel meetings are happening all across our world. Jesus Christ is enthroned, the new King of many souls.

The end is here!
As we continue the wait, the wickedness of the wicked may continue to increase but even so would men and women find grace in the sight of the Lord.
Beloved, do not be weary, our salvation is real and the promise of His return is sure!

Arise Studies Daily (Daily 225 _ Wednesday, August 13, 2025)

Righteousness Upholds Nations

READ Isaiah 5:1-16

“The nation of Israel is the vineyard of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. The people of Judah are his pleasant garden. He expected a crop of justice, but instead he found oppression. He expected to find righteousness, but instead he heard cries of violence.” (Isaiah 5:7 NLT)

The revelation of the acts of God towards mankind (Nations and individuals) is manifested through the way He related with Israel, His chosen people. We learn about the righteousness of God and the things that bring Him pleasure through the documents available to us via scriptures. We do not have too many authenticated dealings of the creator of the universe outside the scriptures and almost all are from the eyes of the Prophets and scribes that God inspired to write or to speak to His chosen people Israel and Judah (Who we still know as Israel).

From the Bible we see how God dealt with various nations at different times. Our text shows us that nations could fail if they forget God. Forgetting God is interpreted as not pleasing God through producing the seed of justice (fairness and equity) which God terms righteousness. God will overthrow such a place, or it would head downwards to the point of becoming a failed state. (Isaiah 5:6-7, Matthew 21:33-41)

So, what have we observed? Something that confuses many. Nations that are perceived not to be “godly” (Christernized) prospering. What we often overlook is the upholding of law, order. Oppressive nations slide down to lack and cease to be vibrant. Some gradually, others suddenly.

For those who intercede for Nations, there is a strong need for asking the Lord to raise leaders who fear God and uphold the rule of law. Some Nations we know today to be powerful will become weak or lose their economic weight within two decades because they have slowly become lawless.

Do you want to see the mighty hand of God in your community, business environment, or nation; focus your prayer on the manifestation of Godfearing leaders and upright judges. This would go a long way to produce righteousness which in turn would produce prosperity to the citizens. “Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people.”
(Proverbs 14:34 NLT) 'Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.'
(Proverbs 14:34 NKJV) 'When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.' (Proverbs 29:2 NKJV)

For a nation to prosper, uprightness reflected in the rule of law through the enthronement of incorruptible Judges and strong pursuit for public good from the authorities must be established, enshrined, protected and sustained.

“But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, And God who is holy shall be hallowed in righteousness. Then the lambs shall feed in their pasture, And in the waste places of the fat ones strangers shall eat.” (Isaiah 5:16-17 NKJV) Selah.
When God comes to check with you, what fruit would He see?

Arise Studies Daily (Day 223 _ Monday, August 12, 2025)

Positioning For National Revival

READ Isaiah 1

“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.' (Isaiah 1:16-17 NKJV)

I have had the privilege of working with a non-profit group that intended to pursue national revival and transformation. I have also been involved as a believer in my country for over forty years in National intercessory movements at different times. Some things have been consistent, we have kept praying for our Nation with our eyes closed and not watching for what the real problem is. We have repeated, leaned on and have been waiting for certain prophecies to come to pass without looking at the word of God said about National Revival and Renewal. It lies open here in the 1st chapter of Isaiah like a truth we all should know already.
FIX the JUSTICE system.
Once that is done, every other thing would align itself and revival, renewal and growth will take place.

Justice in society brings about numerous benefits including social harmony, economic equality, and strong, vibrant communities. It ensures everyone has access to basic needs, is treated daily and can participate in decision making.

What reigns in a land where the justice system works?

Stability and order - A working Justice system would foster the rule of law, reduce lawlessness and promote peaceful, unbiased dispute resolution.
Public Trust in Government - Fairness and legitimacy. Once the public sees that justice bears no bias colours, they would develop faith in the system. A working justice system gives credibility to the government.
Corruption is reduced to the barest minimum - There would be accountability and transparency. The citizens become conscious of the implications of undermining processes.
Human rights and freedom are protected - A good justice system safeguards against all forms of abuses from authorities and individuals. The rich and the poor feel safe.

This is what God told the Prophet to tell the leaders to return to the land of Judah as at that time. At the time of this rebuke by Isaiah, this is how their leader's attitude was described. 'How the faithful city has become a harlot! It was full of justice; Righteousness lodged in it, but now murderers. Your silver has become dross, Your wine mixed with water. Your princes are rebellious, And companions of thieves; Everyone loves bribes, And follows after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, nor does the cause of the widow come before them.' (Isaiah 1:21-23 NKJV)

For those praying for Nigeria and seeking a national revival and reformation, switch towards seeing the justice system raised from the floor where it is currently grovelling in the mud.
God is a just God, in His eyes a good justice system equals righteousness. That is where His presence would be and His blessings would abide. Outside this for any nation would be wanton corruption, economic decline and increase in criminality.
May we pray correctly, and work in the direction that matches the will of God!
Amen!

Abused!

READ Matthew 21:12-17

“And he said to them, “My dwelling place will be known as a house of prayer, but you have made it into a hangout for thieves!” (Matthew 21:13 TPT)

There have been a lot of great teachings within the Body of Christ.
One of the teachings that have made way and gained ground is that of Purposeful living. A good number of great teachers have taught the subject with such a handle that one would think that to be the only subject they were ordained to minister on. Two names stand out for me in the wave of Purposeful living teachings. Dr. Mike Murdock and Myles Munroe who transited a few years ago.

I often ask, “Is there actually a purpose in building or raising a church?”
Outside of the prominent names I mentioned above, I feel like asking, “Does the Church have a purpose?”
A few are focused on the message of the gospel as preached by Christ Jesus and His disciples. Others are simply in the internet space teaching whatever appeals to their fancy and perceived to be what the populace would. Preaching and teaching in some places have shifted from scriptures to any and everything, including real estate!
Here is what God said His house would be like:
“I will bring them to my holy mountain of Jerusalem and will fill them with joy in my house of prayer. I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices, because my Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” (Isaiah 56:7)

Then the “wisemen” took over and started asking what else they could make out of the House of God. God sent Prophet Jeremiah to ask them what was going on. “Has this house, which is called by My Name, become a den of robbers in your eyes [a place of retreat for you between acts of violence]? Behold, I Myself have seen it, says the Lord.” (Jeremiah 7:11 AMPC)

If Jesus Christ could keep to the scriptural intentions and original purpose of the use of the House of God, who are we to turn it to a place where worldly ideas become new templates? Jesus Christ encountered the merchandiser of His day and drove them out.
“There He found in the temple [enclosure] those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting there [also at their stands]. And having made a lash (a whip) of cords, He drove them all out of the temple [enclosure]–both the sheep and the oxen–spilling and scattering the brokers' money and upsetting and tossing around their trays (their stands). Then to those who sold the doves He said, Take these things away (out of here)! Make not My Father's house a house of merchandise (a marketplace, a sales shop)! [Ps. 93:5.] And His disciples remembered that it is written [in the Holy Scriptures], Zeal (the fervor of love) for Your house will eat Me up. [I will be consumed with jealousy for the honor of Your house.] [Ps. 69:9.]' (John 2:14-17 AMPC)

There it is! You know why we are looking for options about what the House of God is meant for? The zeal of the House of God has left us!
We must not wait until He comes to drive us out! Return the house to the owner!
Before you called the space by the name of the Lord, it was yours to do whatever you wanted. Having called it the house of God, use it for the purpose of prayer for all Nations and a place to glorify God and Him alone! Hallelujah!

As it goes with our bodies, so it goes for the space we have given unto the Lord. Amen! (1 Corinthians 3:16-17) Let us stop the abuse of the House of the Lord!

Arise Studies Daily (Day 222 _ Sunday, August 10, 2025)

Something That Really Scares Me

READ Matthew 13:1-17

“This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah that says, ‘When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend. ' (Matthew 13:14)

The scriptures declare that God has not given us the Spirit of Fear but has given that love, power and sound mind. (2 Tim. 1:7)
However there is a reverential fear for God and for being in the will of God that every believer needs.

Learning from our text, the people referred to have been sealed off from repentance. Have an idea what that means? They can no longer be reconciled with God.
“For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.’' (Matthew 13:15)

The thought of sitting idle and watching while a prophetic statement that is visibly negative as it comes to full manifestation truly scares me.The King of Nineveh and her inhabitants did better in the times of Jonah.
God did not just land the people of Israel with a judgement as harsh as this for no reason. They have remained disobedient to the commandments of the Lord for too long. They never thought of repentance. They became a full blown rebellious Nation.

What Isaiah placed on that generation was not just a Prophecy, it was a curse! A curse from the Lord himself. The New Living Translation renders it this way, “When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend.” (Matthew 13:14)
This is the same reason, some, even while claiming to be Christians, are still debating the WORD of God and sometimes challenging the authority of scriptures. Their hearts have been seared with hot iron. They are under the same curse.
They see the raw acts of God but deny. They witness the move of the Holy Spirit but observe it with much disdain. They disown the divine nature of the Word of God.

Thank God for Jesus Christ through who brought GRACE and TRUTH so that we can obtain mercy. ' “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, but they didn’t see it. And they longed to hear what you hear, but they didn’t hear it.” (Matthew 13:16-17)
What a privilege!

I pray that no one takes this opportunity for granted in rejecting the GIFT of God which is eternal life in His son.
May our hearts be open to love the LORD and rejoice in His WORD. Amen.

Arise Studies Daily (Day 221 _ Saturday, August 9,, 2025)

Divine Invitation

READ Matthew 11:28 -30

“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David”. (Isaiah 55:1‭-‬3 NKJV)

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.
(Matthew 11:28 NKJV)

Life throws all kinds of challenges on us as humans. Troubles, as said in the book of Job are like sparks of fire that must fly upward. We live in a world that still bears the heavy presence of things that wear us out; spirit, soul and body.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is calling out to us in the midst of all of that and saying, I CARE. Jesus Christ is aware of our burdens and is willing to take them off our shoulders if we heed to his call to bring all of those burdens to him.

There is another life. The is a life connected to the fountain of life which never runs dry and the refreshing energy it supplies never abates. Are you coming?
The Prophet Isaiah says; there is much we can gain if we can incline our ears to the call.

There is no one that would come that He would reject. No matter the background of such a person; His arms are wide open. “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” (John 6:37 NKJV)
He invites us to come and drink freely. “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37‭-‬38 NKJV)

Friends, he calls us to drop the burdens and exchange it for His life and calling. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29‭-‬30 NKJV)

Do you want rest for your soul? Come to Jesus Christ. This is the only place where there is peace, hope and love.

This is the only call that carries with it divine assurance and insurance.
“Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock”. (Luke 6:47‭-‬48 NKJV)

Drop every other thought, come to Jesus Christ. “ And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. (Revelation 22:17 NKJV).

May this moment mark a New beginning in your life in Jesus’ name!!

Uzziah’s Success

READ 2 Chronicles 26:1-8

'He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord , God made him prosper.' (II Chronicles 26:5)

There are many routes to success, that is if you want to succeed according to the standards of all who do not take Godliness as an important factor to life.
Some many have done very sordid things, yet are rated as successful because they were not caught, or the judgement that is supposed to be their lot never happened.
There are several people considered wealthy with proven track of criminality.
To be successful that way is to end up as Nabal or the rich man whose story is found in the gospel of Luke, chapter 16.

There is however, a track to success that is stress free, satisfying and full of peace.
It is the way of the blessing of the Lord. The Bible says,”'The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.' (Proverbs 10:22)
This is the path that King Uzziah chose.

How did he achieve this feat in the midst of idolatrous nations?
He had a spiritual mentor named Zechariah. He humbled himself and allowed Prophet Zechariah to lead him.
When we humble ourselves, God’s lifting becomes certain. When we follow the Lord, even in seasons of crises, it often turns out that we are setting ourselves up for huge rewards. 'I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me. Riches and honor are with me, Enduring riches and righteousness.'(Proverbs 8:17-18)

King Uzziah dedicated himself to seek the Lord, while sitting on the throne.
How close do you want to be with God?
The closer you get, the better it becomes.

May you follow God wholeheartedly, trusting Him enough to lead you in your endeavours. You will certainly see a success on your path, a success with no negative string attached.

Looking Forward

READ Matthew 19:16-30

“You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.” (Hebrews 10:34 NIV)

Believers are called into a great privilege. This is hidden from the physical realm, just as God is not visible. We only have a perception about it. 'But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”(I Corinthians 2:9)

In earthly realms if a person is heir to a Monarchy, it would be clear to all that such heir stands the possibility of being very wealthy at the point of inheriting what is willed to him. We learn that believers are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. The implications is that all that is Christ’s is ours. Amen. (Rom. 8:17-18)

Many who cannot understand, seek to have all that there is on earth. They do not want to wait for the promises as though God will not be faithful to His words, that the promised New World will not come at all.

God cannot lie. True believers await the promise. “In hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began” (Titus 1:2) The promise is true. Believe in God. '“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:1-3)
Apostle Paul understood this and for the sake of what he understood was waiting for him in the great future, he counted all things but nothing. (Phil. 3:7-8)

Here is the promise, a promise that goes beyond this realm.'“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”'(John 14:1-4)
'So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.”' (Luke 18:29-30)

Believe. Keep looking forward to His appearance. The hope of the believer transcends this present world.

Arise Studies Daily (Day 218_ Wednesday, August 6, 2025)

Every Soul Matters

READ Matthew 18:10-14; Luke 15:11-32

“Think of it this way: If a man owns a hundred sheep and one lamb wanders away and is lost, won’t he leave the ninety-nine grazing the hillside and thoroughly search for the one lost lamb?” (Matthew 18:12 TPT)

“God in relation to humans has no negligible numbers. Everyone is as important as the other”
God did not send His only Begotten Son to a select few, He sent him to all!!
Every soul matters. He does not want any to perish but that all should come to repentance.
“This means that, contrary to man’s perspective, the Lord is not late with his promise to return, as some measure lateness. But rather, his “delay” simply reveals his loving patience toward you, because he does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance.”(2 Peter 3:9 TPT)

God’s love and compassion for even the worst among men is mirrored in the parable of the prodigal son found in Luke 15:11-32. In the story, the father represents the God who never stopped loving His child no matter how far away he had strayed.

Our text re-echoes the fact that God will go all the way to facilitate the redemption of the sheep that strayed away. The redemption of mankind through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ should be understood through the Prophecies of Isaiah. Here is one of such pronouncements:
“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6 NIV)

God cares about the soul of everyone immensely, that is why He has recruited His followers to help rescue the perishing.
“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: (2 Corinthians 5:18 NIV)
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15 NIV)

“He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we’ve learned: that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. This and this only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4-7 MSG)

Let us all, followers of Christ and believers in the resurrection, see this as our core purpose of existence.
“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19 KJV)

Today, we are challenged to live in the will of God by doing that which God delights in. Join the rank and file of the heavenly army, rescue the perishing.
