Why is vitamin B12 so dangerous?
Vitamin B12 is important for DNA syynthesis, nerve health,
red blood cell synthesis, and metabolism.
Severe B12 deficiency leads to subacutee combined
degeneration of the spinal cord. This mananifests as
weakness, uncoordination, and tingling sensations. Fast
treatment is essential to avoid p*ermanent damage
But too much B12 is difficult to come by.
Vitamin B12 is water-soluble. If you have too much, your kidneys filter it from the blood, and you p*e it out.
Overdose/toxicity is possible, but rare. The cases reported in the literature are often in people taking more than 10x the recommended amount daily for weeks at a time. Take it as directed, and you'll be okay.
B12 isn't a dangerous substance. Adverse effects are rare, and deficiency can lead to reversible spinal cord damage. If you're deficient, take it. If not, don't.
Supplementing B12 while at normal doses may lead to
expensive urine, but not much else.
