I don't know who needs to hear this but, CPR is not just breathing in and out of the victim’s mouth.

You have to perform 30 chest beats and then 2 rescue breaths and then repeat.

Women are more susceptible to STDs than men. It’s easier for men to transmit infections to women than vice versa.

This has nothing to do with promiscuity, but because of the anatomy of the s*x organs.

The consequences of untreated STDs are worse for women than for men.

Untreated chlamydia, for example, can spread to the uterus & fallopian tubes, where it can cause pelvic inflammatory disease, potentially leading to infertility.

Respect yourself dear.

It amazes me when I see the level of ignorance some ladies exhibit with regard to this particular drug.

Something that's supposed to be for "emergency," is now "routine".
Some ladies take the two tablets at the same time, some remember it 5 days after the unprotected s*x, others take just one tablet and forget to take the other.

Some even pop 5 or more packets of it per month, as per based on groundnut wey e be? 😂😂
This is so wrong. We know that a lot of people are "nacking" wella in this lockdown and babes are popping P2 like mad. You have to know how it is taken:
1. P2 should be taken within 72 hours (3 days) of the unprotected s*x.

2. The two 💊💊tablets must be taken 12 HOURS apart 🕛

3. Don't take more than one packet (2 tabs) of P2 in one menstrual cycle (ie 1 month)

SIDE EFFECTS could include:
~ Breast pain
~ Headaches
~ Spotting
~ The next period could be delayed or arrive much earlier
~ Nausea and vomiting (in some people)

Autopsy Confirms Severe Alveolar Damage in COVID-19

Editor's note: Find the latest COVID-19 news and guidance in Medscape's Coronavirus Resource Center.

Postmortem findings confirm that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) causes significant alveolar damage, but thrombotic disease may play a role in mortality as well.

In a research letter published online May 21 in JAMA, researchers report postmortem data from 10 consecutive patients with confirmed COVID-19 noting that "acute and organizing diffuse alveolar damage" was the primary histopathologic finding and the leading cause of death among patients, regardless of treatment with invasive ventilation.

"These findings correlate very well with the leading symptoms in COVID-19 such as cough, fever, as well as respiratory distress and respiratory failure in patients with a severe disease course," lead author Rainer Claus, MD, from University Medical Center, Augsburg, Germany, told Medscape Medical News.

He notes, however, that it is "too early to conclude from these changes on specific therapeutic consequences."

Histopathology of the respiratory tract included changes ranging from hyaline membrane formation and thickened alveolar septa with perivascular lymphocyte-plasmocytic infiltration to pronounced fibroblastic proliferation, partial fibrosis, and pneumocyte hyperplasia leading to interstitial thickening.

In a separate, unrelated report published online May 6 in the Annals of Internal Medicine, researchers evaluated postmortem data from 12 consecutive confirmed COVID-19 patients and found similar diffuse alveolar damage in the majority (8/12) of patients; however, seven of the 12 patients also had evidence of deep venous thrombosis, and in four of those patients, pulmonary embolism was considered the direct cause of death.

Of note, no thromboembolic events were noted in the case series reported by Claus and colleagues. When asked why this may be the case, Claus explained that a few caveats must be considered, primarily that analysis of the deep veins of the legs to look for peripheral thrombosis was not performed in their series. Claus also noted that "mortality differs strikingly from region to region, indicating that the disease course might differ due to unknown reasons."

Patients in both reports were predominately male, older than 70 years, and had pre-existing medical conditions. Both reports also noted mild inflammatory changes in other organs including the liver, kidneys, and heart; however, the clinical relevance of these findings is not clear.

The authors of both reports acknowledge the findings may not be generalizable to a broader population as the sample sizes are small, but they encourage clinicians treating patients with COVID-19 to consider performing more postmortem evaluations in an effort to learn more about disease pathology and possible treatment opportunities.

"Several reports about autopsy in COVID-19 patients have revealed significant histopathological and clinically relevant disease characteristics," said Claus.

"It is obvious that postmortem examinations generate important insights into the disease manifestations and the mechanisms of organ failure," and these evaluations "are the only opportunity to macroscopically observe organs and subsequently take ideal samples for histopathological and molecular analyses and generate profound knowledge about this disease," he concluded.

The authors of the JAMA article have disclosed no relevant financial relationships. The authors of the study published in Annals of Internal Medicine have reported financial relationships with a variety of companies; a complete list is available on the journal's website.

The Story Of Jacob Odulate And How He Invented The Famous Alabukun Powder In 1918 - OldNaija

For over nine decades, Alabukun Powder has maintained its stand as one of the most popular patent medicines commonly found in Nigerian homes, workplaces, pharmacies and street shops. Its cheap price and quick effectiveness keep it from falling off the stall since 1918 when its formula was discovered by a brilliant and hardworking Nigerian pharmacist, Jacob Shogboyega Odulate popularly called ‘Blessed Jacob’.

This reminds one of another Nigerian product, St. Louis Sugar, which has also become a household name over decades of its existence. Both Alabukun Powder and St. Louis Sugar have another thing in common besides being around for long, they are barely advertised in the media, yet they firmly held their ground in their respective markets.

Jacob Shogboyega Odulate was born in 1884 to the polygamous family of Pa Odulate in Ikorodu, Lagos. Jacob Odulate stopped schooling at the young age of 12 and moved to Abeokuta, Ogun state, at the age of 14 in search of greener pastures. According to an account by his eldest surviving daughter, Stella O. Odesanya, Jacob travelled from Ikorodu, his hometown, to Abeokuta on foot within a period of three months.

OldNaija gathered that it was in Abeokuta that Jacob met a renowned pharmacist, Doctor Sapara, and volunteered to become his apprentice. Jacob Odulate worked with Dr. Sapara for years before he established his own drug manufacturing company which he named Alabukun. While struggling to make a name for himself and his company, Jacob met a young pretty lady named Sekunmade whom he later married.

It was an unforgettable day in the year 1918, four years after Nigeria was birthed from the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates, Jacob Odulate sat at his laboratory desk after tons of researches and developed a formula for a drug he called Alabukun Powder. Jacob Odulate’s formula was a combination of both native and foreign medicines which gave him a result so excellent than he had expected. A packet of Alabukun contain “760 mg of acetylsalicylic acid and 60 mg of caffeine making a total of 820 mg.” It is used to treat many medical conditions which include “migraine, toothache, sore throat, prevention of blood clots, neuralgias, myocardial infarction, transluminal angioplasty and ischaemic attacks.” However, the powder drug is not to be used without a doctor’s prescription and like every other drug, Alabukun Powder has its side effects some of which are swelling due to fluid accumulation, asthma, vomiting, nausea and vertigo.

Alabukun Powder made a big wave as soon as it hit the market in 1918, an era characterized by colonialism which was then in many ways unfavourable to the natives of Nigeria. Alabukun Powder was exported to nearby countries such as Benin Republic, Togo, Cameroon and Ghana as its demand kept soaring higher. Till today, Alabukun Powder is exported far away to Brazil, Cuba and some countries in Europe as well.

Jacob’s drug manufacturing company has its headquarters located in Sapon, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Other products of Alabukun brand are Alabukun Mentholine and an annual journal called Alabukun Almanac which was widely distributed in Abeokuta and its environs between 1920 and 1950. Alabukun Powder wasn’t advertised in the media due its popularity at the time it made its debut in the market and mainly because of its composition. Nevertheless, Alabukun Powder remains one of the oldest and widely used patent medicines in Nigeria and neighboring countries

Jacob Shogboyega Odulate alias Blessed Jacob died in 1962 at Creek Hospital, Onikan, Lagos and was survived by wife and children.

1. Stress can change your taste in women.

Guys in a high-stress activity see heavier women as more attractive than did those involved in a normal activity “You need no physician to tell you that stress can change a man's decisions,”.

2. Men take stress harder than women.

Men under stress are more likely than women to report having been diagnosed with high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease or heart attack according to research.

3. High anxiety levels can be life-threatening.
4. Stress makes men eat their feelings.

Like women, high stress levels can negatively affect a man’s lifestyle and behavior choices, too.
There are numerous behavioral issues such as skipping meals, getting less sleep, and eating unhealthy foods, that may be a direct or indirect result of stress. These can often interact with and contribute to the medical impact of stress, which can include increased blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, and increased vulnerability to infections.

What You Can Do

Avoiding stressful activities can be a deciding factor in living a stress-free life.
