NHLMIS Officials Visit Borno for Training and Advocacy

The Executive Secretary of the Borno State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (BODMA), Pharm. Umar Abdulkarim, today received and addressed the technical team of the National Health Logistics Management Information System (NHLMIS) at the State Public Health Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).

The visit was part of the NHLMIS team’s effort to strengthen collaboration, enhance capacity, and improve data management for effective health logistics and supply chain operations in the state.

Key stakeholders present at the meeting included representatives from the Ministry of Health, Pharm. Ali S. Atabo (DPS, Ministry of Health), Pharm. James Malgwi (DPS, Hospital Management Board), Pharm. Amina Yakubu (Director, Supply Chain and Logistics, BPHCDA), and Pharm. Mustapha Abbagana (LMCU Coordinator).

The meeting provided an opportunity for productive discussions on improving coordination and data-driven decision-making across all health programs in Borno State.

*EXECUTIVE SECRETARY BODMA HONOURED BY PANS UNIMAID*

The Executive Secretary, BODMA has been honoured with an *Outstanding Award* by the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS), University of Maiduguri.

The recognition was presented during the Public Lecture, Magazine Launch, and Award Presentation organized by PANS UNIMAID.

As part of the event, the Executive Secretary served as the *Chief Launcher* of the *PHARMA-SAHEL Magazine*. In a show of support, he launched five copies of the magazine on behalf of all pharmacists in Borno State, with a total donation of ₦200,000.

This highlights his continuous support and commitment to the growth and development of pharmacy profession in the state.

*ES BODMA Joins Global Leaders at 83rd FIP Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark.*

The Executive Secretary BODMA, Pharm. Dr, Umar Abdulkarim, is currently participating in the *83rd International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Congress* of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, which commenced on 31st August 2025 in Copenhagen.

*FIP Congress is one of the most prestigious global gatherings in the pharmaceutical sector, bringing together policymakers, researchers, educators, and practitioners from across the world*.

This year’s congress focuses on *advancing pharmacy practice, education, and science in order to strengthen health systems and improve access to quality healthcare.*

Pharm. Abdulkarim will be engaging in high-level scientific sessions and bilateral discussions with international stakeholders.
