MOAU CONSULTANCY SERVICES STRENGTHENS TIES WITH THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND
The Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University Consultancy Services has reaffirmed its commitment to building enduring institutional partnerships with the Republic of Poland as a strategic means of enhancing bilateral cooperation and mutual development. This commitment was underscored during a recent meeting in Abuja between the Managing Director, Dr. Mark Varem and officials of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland.
The engagement followed an invitation from the Embassy to discuss the Standard Tiv–English Dictionary and explore broader areas of collaboration.
The Secretary for Political and Economic Affairs at the Polish Embassy, Dr. Patrick Zając, congratulated the Consultancy Services and the authors of the Dictionary on its successful publication and unveiling. He described the work as groundbreaking and a significant contribution to the standardization and development of the Tiv language.
Dr. Zając, who holds a doctorate in African Languages from the University of Warsaw, praised the scholarly depth of the publication and sought approval to promote it within Polish and European academic circles. He also pledged to facilitate reviews in reputable international journals to enhance its global visibility and academic credibility.
Another Embassy official, Mr. Thomas Gajc, encouraged the initiation of practical areas of cooperation, particularly in culture, education, science, technology, innovation, climate change, and agriculture. He reaffirmed the Embassy’s readiness to support meaningful collaborative initiatives.
In his remarks, Dr. Mark Varem expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended to his team and highlighted the Consultancy Services’ continued delivery of premium services in human resource development, publishing, ICT, agriculture, and related sectors. He noted that the Standard Tiv–English Dictionary, co-published with the Tiv Area Traditional Council, was conceived as a vital resource for preserving and promoting the Tiv language, spoken by over 10 million people worldwide.
Dr. Varem approved the proposal for the Dictionary’s review in Polish and European academic journals and pledged to pursue other mutually beneficial areas of cooperation, including agriculture, ICT, and staff/faculty and student exchange programs discussed during the meeting. He was accompanied by the Lead Author, Rev. D. T. Kashima, and the Co-Author, Aondohembafan Akase.
The meeting marks a significant step toward fostering constructive academic and institutional collaboration between Fr. Adasu University Consultancy Services and the Republic of Poland.
