Dear Participant,

On behalf of Succeeding Against All Odds (SAAO), I sincerely thank you for being a part of the Niger State Disability Inclusion Summit held on the 22nd of October, 2025.

Your presence and active participation added great value to our collective vision of building an inclusive and accessible Niger State a true smart city for all, where everyone, regardless of ability or makeup, can live, work, move and contribute meaningfully to development.

At SAAO, we believe that inclusivity is not just a policy goal but a shared responsibility and a human right. Your support reinforces our movement for a society that celebrates diversity and ensures that no one is left behind.

In several MDAs and public office buildings across Niger state, people with disabilities find it because there is no ramp or lift for wheelchairs. This is the harsh reality for many Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the State, despite the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act of 2019 mandating accessibility and inclusion.

From inaccessible hospitals without sign language interpreters, to public transport where drivers speed off without waiting for those with mobility aids to the inability to cross the roads unaided, PWDs are marginalized in every corner: health, banking, economy, transportation, education, and beyond.

This is the reason why Succeeding Against All Odds is organizing the Niger State Disability Inclusion Summit because it is crucial and time to move beyond lip service and seek action from the government.

This summit aims to bring together government, grassroots voices and advocates to build a truly inclusive state. Will you join the conversation? Will you be part of the change?

She is deeply humbled and sincerely grateful 🙏❤️ to the SUG Executive Council and to every student of the Federal University of Technology, Minna who participated in the poll that led to this Lecturer of the Year Award. 🏆

The creation of anti-gender based violence and mental health clubs in schools is essential to raise awareness about GBV among students and proffer safe spaces where students can speak about their challenges without being criticised or ostracised. Succeeding Against All Odds was there when the anti-GBV and Mental Health club was set up in Maryam Babangida girls secondary school and Government Secondary School, Old Airport road today.

The Niger state chaper of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and PWAN collaborated with Succeeding Against All Odds and the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child with students of the Maryam Babangida Girls Secondary School and the Government Girls Secondary school, Old Airport road. Talks were about gender based violence, mental health, prevention of violence and sexual abuse among other topics.
