It is with deep humility, fulfillment, and gratitude to God Almighty that I officially announce the successful completion of my tenure as the National President of the Nigerian Association of Radiography Students (NARS).

Serving in this esteemed capacity has been one of the greatest honours of my life. This administration has indeed journeyed through moments of trials and triumphs. Despite the challenges encountered, our resilience, unity, and shared vision enabled us to achieve remarkable milestones and strengthen the foundation of our noble association.

During the course of this administration, we were able to initiate and accomplish the following:

Organization of the NARS National Convention and Scientific Workshop
Establishment of the Organized Scholarship Program
Facilitation of Campus Tours (Physical and Virtual)
Hosting of Online Game Competitions and Academic Engagement Platforms
Launch of the NARS National (Africa Connect) Initiative
Organization of Webinars, Seminars, and Orientation Programs
Incorporation of New Schools into the Association
Strengthening unity through social engagements, including events during the ARN Conference
Maintenance of peace, orderliness, and effective coordination across all chapters
Advocacy for accreditation of institutions without accreditation
Courtesy visits and engagements with key stakeholders within the profession
Promotion of centralized internship placement for radiography students
Creation of an enabling and inclusive environment for all members
Achievement of approximately 90% success rate in professional examinations through academic support initiatives
Advocacy for improved student representation and progressive policies in the profession
Establishment of strategic partnerships with organizations such as Medzelo (affordable scrubs) and Dr Unique (affordable textbooks)
Commissioning of the University of Uyo NARS Local Chapter Secretariat
Celebration of World Radiography Day
Implementation of mentorship programs

The leadership of the Nigerian Association of Radiography Students (NARS) National Body recently paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Board Registrar as part of the administration’s commitment to ensuring that the interests and welfare of Radiography students across the country are adequately represented.

During the visit, the leadership also congratulated the Registrar on his recent appointment, while expressing confidence in his leadership and commitment to advancing the Radiography profession in Nigeria.

During the meeting, the NARS National leadership presented several issues currently affecting Radiography students nationwide. Among the key concerns raised was the challenge surrounding internship placement for graduating Radiography students.

In his response, the Board Registrar appreciated the visit and commended the efforts of the student leadership in advocating for the welfare of Radiography students. He assured the delegation that steps would be taken to address some of the highlighted concerns. Notably, he stated that efforts are underway to work towards establishing a centralized internship placement system for Radiography graduates, which may be implemented before the end of this year or by next year.

Furthermore, the Registrar also promised to organize an interactive session with Radiography students when necessary in order to promote better communication and engagement. He equally assured the student body of his readiness to always give students a listening ear on matters affecting their academic and professional development.

Several other important matters affecting Radiography students were also discussed during the meeting, and the Registrar assured the delegation that they would receive due consideration.

The leadership of NARS remains committed to continually engaging relevant stakeholders to promote the welfare, professional development, and future of Radiography students in Nigeria.
