I am deeply concerned about the challenges currently facing Radiography students at Rev. Fr. Moses Adashio University, Makurdi (MOAUM).

Radiography students deserve the highest standard of education, support, and institutional commitment from both the Benue State Government and the university management.

The absence of accreditation for the programme raises serious concerns and reflects a troubling disregard for the academic and professional future of these students.

Accreditation is not just a formality—it is a fundamental requirement that ensures quality training, professional recognition, and career progression. Without it, the future of these students remains uncertain and unfairly jeopardized.

I therefore lend my voice in strong support of the Radiography students of MOAUM and call on all relevant authorities to take urgent and decisive action to address this issue.

The dreams and aspirations of these students must not be neglected.

The Nigerian Association of Radiography Students (NARS) stands firmly with the ARN in rejecting the proposed 2026 Bills (HB 2695 & HB 2699). These are not reforms—they are a threat to the autonomy of a profession that has served as the cornerstone of Nigerian healthcare for over 50 years.

From the frontlines of the global fight against cancer to the precision of life-saving diagnoses, radiography is an independent, scientifically grounded discipline. We cannot allow our expertise to be swallowed by a council that does not represent our field.

As the future of radiation science, we refuse to inherit a subordinate profession. We call on all Nigerians—patients, lawmakers, and civil society—to demand that the National Assembly protect the integrity of our healthcare system.
