Vaseline Season Is Coming: let's talk about this jelly that many people run to.
As harmattan is warming up, Vaseline is about to become everybody’s best friend again.
But before we dive into rubbing it on every dry corner of our body, let’s talk about what this jelly actually does, and how to use it safely.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL?
It seals in moisture. Once it sits on your skin, it creates a protective layer that helps cracked, dry or irritated areas heal faster.
That’s why it shines during harmattan.
Here are some everyday uses you will actually benefit from:
1• For small cuts and burns: Clean the area properly and then apply a thin layer. It keeps the wound moist and helps healing.
If you apply on a dirty skin, it will trap germs, so alwayswash your skin first.
2. For dry face, hands, and feet: Apply after a shower to lock in moisture.
Apply on those cracked heels: Soak your feet, dry them well, rub in some jelly and wear socks overnight.
Even if your hands are looking like you are family every minute, rub some jelly and wear gloves for 20 minutes, and notice the effect
3. For chapped lips: A tiny amount keeps your lips soft and protected.
4. For babies: When used correctly, it can help prevent diaper rash by forming a protective barrier.
Just make sure the skin is clean and dry before applying.
5. For pets: If your dog’s paws crack, a very small amount can soothe it. (Small, because they lick their paws!)
6. As a makeup remover: Especially for stubborn eye makeup. Apply gently and wipe, avoiding harsh wiping.
7. For hair: A tiny amount on your ends can reduce the look of split ends and add shine.
8. To prevent hair dye or nail polish stains: Rub around your hairline or nails before coloring. Wipes off easily afterwards.
9. For stuck rings or tight hinges: A bit of jelly helps rings slide off and quiets squeaky hinges.

Now that you have learnt some of its benefits, let's be clear: Vaseline is for external use only.
-Don’t eat it. Don’t insert it anywhere.
-Don’t use it with condoms because it can weaken latex and can cause them to break.
-Don’t use it as a va**nal lubricant. It can increase the risk of infections like Bacterial vaginosis.
Some people may also get:
-Breakouts if they apply on dirty skin
-Irritation or allergies (rare but possible)
-Infections if the area wasn’t cleaned properly first
Always use clean hands or a clean tool when dipping into a jar.
Vaseline is a classic for a reason.
It’s affordable, gentle, and great at what it does; locking in moisture and helping your skin heal.
Just use it correctly and pay attention to how your skin reacts.
