Countdown to World Sight Day 2025đ
Theme: Love Your Eyes: Vision for Everyone
Today, I attended to an 8-year-old boy with albinism who had been referred for an eye check. His teacher noticed he was struggling in class and raised the concern with his parents. That simple act of care made all the difference.
After his eye exam, we found he needed glasses. At first, his father was unsure, but with a little encouragement he agreed. The boy left smilingâready to see clearly and learn better.
Parents, please make your childrenâs health a priority. Good vision is closely tied to learning, confidence, and growth.
And to every teacher who pays attention when a child is falling behindâthank you. Your concern may be the reason a childâs life changes for the better.
As we count down to World Sight Day on Thursday, 9th October, letâs remember to love our eyes and help the children around us do the same.
