๐ŸŒโœจ Itโ€™s โ€” Letโ€™s Change a Childโ€™s Story ๐Ÿ’›
In Keeping It Real (KIR) Foundation, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn, dream, and succeed.
Yet the reality remains challenging:
๐Ÿ“Š Only 6% of children under 5 have access to books at home
๐Ÿ“Š 7 in 10 children at age 10 cannot read a simple sentence
These are not just statistics. These are real children whose futures are at risk.
๐Ÿ’š You can change that today.
Your support can equip 500 children including young girls like Joyce Christโ€™s Disciples' Missionary Foundation Inc Primary Schools in Mubi Hills, Adamawa State with the tools to learn, grow, and thrive!

๐ŸŒŸ | TGIIF Goal Friday ๐ŸŒŸ
We celebrate an inspiring session where young learners explored โ€œThe Role of Books in Setting SMART Goalsโ€ ๐Ÿ“šโœจ
Guided by the mentor for the day, Moyosore Joseph, our TGIIF Hub members discovered how reading builds focus, discipline, and direction for the future! ๐ŸŒฑ
Some shared:
๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œBooks help me dream bigger and become who I want to be.โ€
๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œWhat I read shapes how I think and act.โ€
Pastor Moyosore, a Certified Coach, Speaker, and Trainer with the John Maxwell Team urged mentors and coaches to volunteer:
"Some children are already setting career goals based on what theyโ€™ve read. Itโ€™s inspiring to see young minds shape their futures. Mentors and coaches, letโ€™s join hands to raise this generation!
๐Ÿ’› Letโ€™s continue empowering young people to set SMART goals and pursue greatness, one book at a time. ๐Ÿ”— bit.ly/KIRF11

๐ŸŽฌ End the Month with Inspiration - Movie Friday!
We began this month with a powerful reminder from Martin Luther King Jr:

โ€œIf you cannot fly, run. If you cannot run, walk. If you cannot walk, crawl. Just keep moving forward.โ€
This Friday, we celebrate that same spirit of perseverance with Queen of Katwe, the inspiring story of a young girl from rural Uganda whose courage and determination changed her future! โ™Ÿ๐Ÿ’ช
In Keeping It Real (KIR) Foundation, we use stories like this to inspire young people to build resilience, embrace their uniqueness and believe in their potential. ๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿ’™
โœจ Join us for an afternoon of inspiration, learning and community.
Bring a friend. Get inspired. Keep moving forward!

Inspiring Change Through Learning!

In the wake of the Boko Haram attack on the villages in Mubi Local Government Area in Adamawa in North-Eastern Nigeria 2014, Polycarp and his colleagues who are teachers in the remote villages that share a boundary with Cameroun, had to run away to secure their lives. On their return, they saw first hand the devastation to their houses and sadly to school structures, which led to low attendance and retention as the children had to be taught under trees. KIR Foundation decided to step in and rebuild the lives of the children and their communities through education. Kindly check our project reports on https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/educate-270-children-in-northern-nigeria/updates/

Keeping It Real (KIR) Foundation was established in 2010 as a non-profit and nongovernmental organization (RC 916541). KIR Foundation has been in operation since 2011 as a disability-inclusive organization with the primary objective of โ€˜inspiring change through learningโ€™. KIR Foundation exists to transform the lives of vulnerable children, youth, persons with disabilities, prison inmates, women and our local communities through Education, Advocacy, Capacity and Sustainable Development Programs. KIR Foundation has its headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a Liaison Office in Lagos and partnerships with various non-profit organizations and coalitions. In the past 7 years, KIR Foundation has worked with 84 institutions in Nigeria (Adamawa State, Edo State, Imo State, Lagos State, Niger State, Plateau State, Rivers State, and Abuja the capital of Nigeria), making a difference in the lives of more than 18,238 beneficiaries. We have donated over 15,251 books, various educational supplies (exercise books, stationaries and learning aids), starter kits, farming implements and published โ€˜The Young Leaderโ€™s Guide; a leadership manual for young people. Kindly check our website for more details; www.kirfoundation.org. Our vision - To raise innovative leaders committed to lifelong learning to transform their communities. Our Mission: KIR Foundation is a Disability-Inclusive, Education, Advocacy, Capacity and Sustainable Development organisation, committed to inspiring life long learning and creating transformative change in the lives of vulnerable children, youth, persons with disabilities, prison inmates, women and our local communities. TARGET BENEFICIARIES Most deprived, marginalized and vulnerable groups in the society are our primary stakeholders. They include the following; Vulnerable children - in orphanages and homes for street children who receive educational support and health insurance through us. Youth - in and out of school youth with and without disabilities benefit from our after school academic projects, career guidance and counselling initiative, leadership, ICT and vocational training projects. Persons with Disabilities - we raise awareness on physical, social, cultural, and communication barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from participating in society; promoting their inclusion in society. We develop their social and educational capacity so that they are included in all developmental issues. Prison Inmates - we support prison adult literacy programs by donating books and educational supplies. We believe that education is an opportunity and effective way of sustainably preparing them for success outside of prison. Women โ€“ Through our entrepreneurial project with rural farmers, women are supported to become key agents of positive change in the agricultural sector. We work with poor rural female farmers to promote household empowerment as a direct or indirect objective. Local Communities โ€“ KIR Foundation organizes projects in our local communities which are targeted at disadvantaged groups to strengthen and build capacity especially as regards education. We partner with community-based nonprofits to ensure stakeholder engagement and sustainability. In 2011; Donated 1672 Books, Impacted 130 Children with Learning Projects and Trained 878 Youth
