Earlier this week we began exploring a connection many women overlook in midlife:

Itโ€™s easy to assume sleep problems start at bedtime.

But often the body is responding to something that happened ๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€ ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†.

Digestion influences inflammation.
Inflammation affects the nervous system.
And the nervous system influences sleep.

Which means what the body experiences during the day
often shows up quietly at night.

Midlife doesnโ€™t ask for panic.

It asks for ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—บ.

Yesterday evening we held a small reflection session with women navigating midlife.

The conversation was thoughtful and honest.

We spoke about stress, sleep and sustained energy โ€” and the questions reflected how differently midlife can show up.

Acid reflux.
Sleepiness after meals.
Hormonal shifts after hysterectomy.

Different experiences, but often connected by the same reality:

Midlife requires ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐˜€๐˜‚๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐˜†.

This week weโ€™ll explore some of those connections more closely โ€” especially the relationship between digestion, stress and sleep.

Midlife sleep shifts because regulation shifts.

Stress lingers longer.
Hormones fluctuate.
The nervous system becomes more sensitive.

Sleep stops being automatic.
It becomes something we support.

Welcome to March.

February was about stress.
March is about sleep.

Because many strong women are quietly living in what I call
the 2:07am season.

Not anxious.
Not alert.
Just awake.

Midlife doesnโ€™t shout.
It whispers at night.
